Re: Richardson out

4 wins and a draw since Bradford. Today’s result was magic. We’d had a very favourable run of games since Leam came in and today was always going to be his biggest test. He passed with flying colours. What I liked was Charlie savage did a post match interview where he said Stockport line up shook u...

Re: January shopping list

I think it's a mistake to say that promotion is not a priority as it would take a huge rebuild at Champ level - it always takes a big rebuild as the gulf in class between the two levels is so huge. If you look at the likes of Oxford, Charlton, Portsmouth, Derby, .. they all made A LOT of signings af...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

13 points from 7 under LR. What's actually encouraging is that we don't look convincing. It's quite obvious he's not too happy with the state of the squad and wants to put his mark on it over the next few windows. But we're getting results anyway. There should be extra gears to go through with bett...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

Think DK could turn out to be an inspired signing. He was raw at the start of the season but the improvement in recent weeks has been great to see. Sadly many of our other summer signings have been disappointing so far in comparison. Several of our signings have been decent: O'Connor, Williams and ...

Re: Richardson out

nailseabiscuitman What a tosspot this Brogue character is. I assume Couhig has rooted out his contact and he's no longer able to trumpet his latest scoop.

+1 - good with rumours but a complete tosspot otherwise

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

PieEater Is his name pronounced Leam as in team, or Le-am as in Liam.

If it's the latter I'm with Winston and hate him already.

I hope he does well as I've just named my twin boys Leam A and Leam B

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Biggest achievement he talks like a human being and has kept the academy going and generally ensured we still have a team - which he deserves tons of credit for.

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I get the impression we targeted a big old school CF on deadline day and failed. We simply don't have the players to do this. If we get crosses in the box, I think Marriot is smart enough to find space and make near post runs even if he's not the biggest, the bigger challenge is working the ball in...

Re: Hunts gone

Seriously not sure what's worse - the idiots on Twitter calling for Hunt's head or some people on here bemoaning his sacking as if it's the betrayal of Christ. Surely, it's somewhere in the middle ... I don't like him being sacked, but from my point of view he didn't seem able to get us playing the ...

Dire football all season - Hunt is maybe a good coach, but no manager. It's time up from me. Time to be ruthless RC.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Deserved win. Not a convincing, dominant performance but back it up by beating Doncaster and we're making enough progress. Doncaster started well but are stalling so definitely winnable. O'Connor and Williams look rock solid. Good to Lane to make a key contribution. Unlucky for MOM not to get off t...

Re: Nathan Ferguson

Got another big injury at the beginning of the week. Career over That's awful. After a fairly lengthy period of fitness, pre-season with Pompey, and then looking head and shoulders above with us at 21 level. Really feel for the guy. BTW - do you know why Paudie is so far behind? Do you know how clo...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Snowflake Royal Agree, I have nothing to suggest he'd be more of a bit part in an injury crisis this season. And regular football abroad seems like a great option.

But the club know him and the deal offered best.

Presumably they wanted to avoid him leaving for free ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Been pretty poor to be honest apart from the two goals ... very disjointed. Once again we were beaten by a simple ball over the top for first goal and 2nd was very Button'eque.

Re: 3 more signings

I'm really disappointed that we did not spend tons of money on huge contracts and signings as it might mean missing out on another points deduction later down the line! Very disappointing transfer window. Why get new owners if they're going to behave sensibly?
