Re: Fixtures 2025/26

100%. Never gone home from a game so pissed wet through, with the biggest smile on my chops. I say pissed wet through, as a few of us were in the town end. Nothing unusual there. The bank was definitely rocking and looking over to cheer us boys as well. Happy days. Just shows how the memory can foo...

Re: Fixtures 2025/26

I remember a Christmas away visit to Plymouth in 87. Gail force wind and horizontal rain blown into our faces for 90 minutes. We won 3-1. A repeat would be nice. As an aside, I used to go up Prospect Park and play footie with the Cooper bros. Adie, Paul and Leigh. The reason I mention this, is that...

Plymouth away on a Boxing Day is pretty disgusting. Long trip to do I remember a Christmas away visit to Plymouth in 87. Gail force wind and horizontal rain blown into our faces for 90 minutes. Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Meite being associated on the rounds again, released by Cardiff. On the right wages a yes from me. From an emotive point of view, would love to see him back in the hoops. In fact, going back in time, when I saw him going up the escalator at Reading Station, I gave it the ol "We've got Meite&qu...

Swinscum and Poxford behind doors. That'll save a few bob on the old bill fees.

Re: G’arn then, somebodies got to….In Praise of Dai Yoonge

No, that was the Russian Marussia team and it was under the stewardship of Anton Zingaravich, arguably a worse owner than Dai Yongge but perhaps better advised with regards to transfers etc. I think AZ would definitely have been a worse owner if he actually had the money to spend wastefully. Maybe....

Reading and Poxford fans mixing together....never did and never would happen. There was more chance of Trump becoming the next Pope. https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/images/stellar/prod/16x9-ai-generated-image-trump-pontiff.jpg?c=16x9&q=w_1280,c_fill Nice one Sutekh. You didn't let me down mate

Re: Unexpected delirium

Forbury Lion
former Oxford captain and manager Ron Atkinson Mr Maxwell obviously believes that if you add 6,000 United fans to 6,000 Reading fans you'll get 12,000 supporters for the new club. You won't.

Mid Sussex Royal I wonder how he covers his period with us and WBA? His CV must have more BS in it than Rachael Reeves's.

This has come as something of a shock: 'Fans have reacted after it was announced that former Reading FC CEO Roun Gorulay has been appointed as new CEO for La Liga side Ron Gourlay.' Re: OFFISHAL CONFRIMATION of the CONFIMRED

Met Sir John, back in the day, up the Costa Cafe in Reading Station. Came across as quite a character. Asked him where he was off to and he replied "Up to Liverpool. Without casting aspersions, say no more". A blind date, or some sort of surprise? Either way he probably had a lot of laugh...

Re: OFFISHAL CONFRIMATION of the CONFIMRED

Sir John Madejski's been a bit quiet though this takeover.... Is he okay? Not seen him driving his Bentley about recently. Appreciate the new owners are rightly hogging the media and communicating with the fans, but I would have thought Sir John would pop up and say how pleased he was that the club...

Re: Who do you want in the first home and away games?

Two ways to look at the opening home game - you either want an "easy" game to hopefully get a decent win on the board - so L2 play-off winners probably the best shout there or you want a game you can really put down a marker in if you win. So Wimbledon or Plymouth for me. First away game ...

Re: Predictions for this weekend

We'll win comfortably, Orient will bottle it and we'll go into the play-offs riding the crest of a wave and finally win a play-off final at Wembley. There, I've said it. At least we have someone to blame now. Happy to be that man. Whatever does happen though, I am so proud of this team. A collectio...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Is it really true that Rob Couhig plans to close or downgrade the academy or is this just some tenuous, self-feeding rumour with no substance? I'm more than prepared to give him a chance (like him even) but would be very concerned by this direction of flow. Surely bringing on and selling a few acad...

Re: Promotion thread 2024/25

Winning promotion at Wembley after all we've been through would be a euphoric moment. But it would quickly dawn on us that we'd have to play in the Championship again, and I'm quite enjoying L1. Some of our players are good enough, but ultimately we'd need Carey to pull a lot of rabbits out of the ...

Re: Rival Watch

Looking at the remaining fixtures, I'd say Bolton pose the biggest threat in terms of a play off position. They got smashed today, however their remaining games seem to fare favourably compared to Orient's.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Surely the point is that Couhig has one of Dai’s ball in a vice-like grip (and the EFL are holding the other one a bit more gingerly), so now Dai is just going to have to take Couhig’s offer, or lose everything? And I think a whole bunch of us suggested that the litigation was a fairly transparent ...
