Re: Hunt out.

Think it would still be knee jerk. We have 2 winnable home games in Vale and Northampton; after then if we're still poor, he'll be under pressure then. Given Wycombe's start, it's quite possible that in 3 games time our start looks very different. I think Northampton could be moved due to internati...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

Hmm. Not sure what to make of it all really. Still feel that Hunt is within a grace window what with having to start essentially from scratch this season with a new roster of players, and want to afford the same grace to those players too - it’s rare to hit the ground running, and they will of cour...

Re: Rumour - Dom Ballard

Anything new coming out at all or all quiet on the western front? Absolutely nothing. Totally quiet. Which is weird. Something is either about to happen, like us pulling rabbit from the hat and we sign some great striker that they’ve been keeping under wraps. Or we’re fcuked and have nothing lined ...

Re: Club legend.

Pretty sure that was someone else.....Fred Neate? Arrrggghh - it was Fred Neate! Ron was the kitman! Old age is a bastard!!! Gordon Neate. Weed fiasco aside, year after year the Elm Park pitch looked way better than the vast majority of opposition pitches. Interesting to me that Branfoot doesn't ge...

Re: Club legend.

How's it being re-written? Parkinson's never been rated for being an incredible talent, but for being a longserving blood and thunder, 100% committed player who played in one of our most successful sides, and as that side broke up and declined gave the remnants some backbone and fighting spirit, al...

If either Plymouth or Peterborough lose tonight (home to Orient & Barnsley respectively) we are off the bottom.

Re: Club legend.

Maurice Evans RIP - definite club legend - died 25 years ago today....and nice the club have remembered today. Like the post above re Charlie Hurley managed the club during a time of zero ambition at board level and the 1978/79 season I remember with a lot of fondness still. Longest serving RFC mana...

Re: Club legend.

1. No. Hunt scored 7 goals in the championship season under Brian and only one which was crucial in the run in (at West Ham) so hardly played a key role. Roberts was the catalyst that season. 2. Legends are either players like Friday (someone iconic) or played the best part of their career at the cl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

My eyesight isn’t the best but I think it was Dorsett (and Rushesha) who were warming up with the squad before kick off yesterday - presumably as back ups should someone get injured in the warm up. So I assume Dorsett was fit but left out of Wimbledon It’s a tough call this, last thing we want to d...

Re: Good uses and bad uses of Liam Fraser

Good uses As cover for Wing when injured To be a deeper option that allows Wing to push forward As part of a double pivot when defending a lead or against high calibre opposition Bad uses As an attacking or creative midfielder when Doyle and Elliott are available. Discuss. Hunt tried to explain why...

Re: Hunt out.

Some so called journo David Mason claims Hunt has been sacked this evening with an announcement later or tomorrow. Never heard of him but claims he called Mbengue to QPR and Wareham to Exeter first.

Re: Ex Royals

Smith came on and scored, last kick of game just about.

Wrexham well beaten at home by an average West Brom side not expected to pull up any trees this season.

How long will the yanks give Parky if the results don't come?

Re: Hunt out.

Assuming we lose the next 2 aways and then don't beat either Vale or Northampton at home he's gone.

Ben Elliott didn't play as it was a "second ball game".

It was us who made it that but hammering long balls up field....

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Sadly Reading FC’s coverage of the Academy gets no better. We must be the only club out of the 29 Cat 1 teams not to have any PL 2 U 21 fixtures on the website. The U 18’s are there to be fair. I am not expecting any coverage from the opening PL 2 match at Norwich KO 7pm at all from the club - whic...
