Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

Just thinking about it, think Ritchie had one of his better performances. Works well cutting in onto his right foot to whip an inswinger to the far post, while Roberts can boom outside and whip an outswinger. But he’s definitely a sub, not a starter. If the Internet is to be believed, Richie is our...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

Absolutely detest that stupid cr@ppy drivel national radio programme that slam dunks itself across all the BBC local radio stations and wrecks the local post/pre match coverage as it doesn’t take into account different kick off time that clubs might have. yup, it’s sh1t, meanwhile talking BB...

Re: One more in.

Does anyone have any clue as to when Andy Rinomhota is going to be playing in the first team? Has he eloped with JJ? Seems a bit odd for a cash strapped club to sign a player, have him play 10 mins and then dissappear... (Notwithstanding his personal issue - I've got no idea about that - lack of co...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

They mention they were expecting bigger attendances. I think they didn’t realise just how battered and bruised the fan base was after all the shit we’ve had to deal with. Compound that with shooting his mouth off - over promising and underdelivering in the transfer market - that didn’t help. If we ...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

So for absolute clarity - 'we put in £1M almost every month' means the club is losing around £12M/annum at the current rate of income vs expenditure... Please correct me if I have misinterpreted the statement[/quote] That's how I interpret that statement. Worth noting our previous accounts (2023-24)...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Reading FC owner Rob Couhig has revealed that the shareholders have been paying £1 million nearly every month to bolster the club. After a busy start to the January transfer window, and with Reading FC making a permanent signing in the winter transfer window for the first time in years, the Royals ...

Re: US Political situation - Any impact on Reading FC?

Apparently, the plan is to fix the end of season vote so that Trump gets both Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards... Oh and every golden gamble and Papa john's Pizza from now til the end of the season... but even then, he will likely throw RC, TT and Reading FC under a bus... ...

Re: Rival Watch

Cardiff City given a transfer embargo by EFL for non-submission of 24/25 accounts by the 31 December deadline. This means Cardiff cannot sign any players during the current window until they send in the figures. So have Reading done theirs yet then given Cardiff haven’t and have been accordingly do...

Re: Realistic January CF targets

Of course you go for promotion - it's been the new owners' explicitly objective from the start of the season. Staying in League 1 costs them £10M a year... The costs of the Championship might be higher, but the rewards are greater also and the possibility of flipping the club if they want to... They...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

The pronunciation of Reading as 'Red-ing' provides a clue to its Saxon origins. Historians believe its name links to a group or tribe of early Saxons, the Rēadingas in Old English, who settled here in the 500s AD. So, it probably means 'Reada’s people'. It has been suggested the name Reada means ‘th...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

I'm irrationally annoyed that Reading has an 'a' in it, given the name is supposedly derived from a Red Haired Viking who set up camp here 1500 years ago...

Redding would be so much simpler and less confusing for scholars...
