Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

BFTG. I thought the first half was pretty dire and we were lucky not to concede except for a great save from Pereira. Second half we were a bit better then 2 goals in a few minutes in front of the away fans. After that we seemed to stop playing rather than dominate, there's something not right with ...

Re: Ricardo Santos

Ricardo Santos’ will not be joining Reading due to failing a medical. https://x.com/i/status/2011828284732895661 Small point but I remember listening to a podcast with the Arsenal physio and he said nobody fails a medical as that isn't want the process is about - he is simply an input into the risk...

Re: Northampton Town (A) - Saturday 31st January 2pm KO

In for this. I used to work near Ntm and frequented the Malt Shovel, a cracking pub that brews it's own beer. As I recall the ground is a bit of a pain to get to/from the station, I guess we're in for the 30min walk to the ground or the D2 bus.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (h)

Great win today and some karma for the utterly poor awayday experience in Stockport, they seem to go out of their way to make it as shit as possible to it's nice that we do them with a last minute winner, I hope the away fans appreciated the roof, food kiosks and toilets in a proper ground as they h...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

A random theory, we know Couhig had liens on Bearwood so Dai couldn't sell it. Could this be him removing his lien - transfering the ownership to Dai in order to buy it back at the price stated?

Re: Another pukka partnership…

The pies in the stadium are tasty enough it's just that they are very low on filling for £5. The chicken balti pie does leave you with incredible dog breath. On the subject of pies I noticed that the steak pies in Blackpool were £5.30 each in the away stand, but a lot less (according my STH brother)...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

Personally I'd be ok with the Cat1 academy going as long as they keep Bearwood for the first team. There's not a great deal of alternative sites for another training ground locally, and it has to be quite a pull to get players to sign for us. The problem with the cost of running Bearwood is largely ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Great win but I have to say the football is tedious. Wing and Savage seem to have gone missing, we just get pressed in midfield, pass it back to defence, get pressed there, pass it back to the keeper who hoofs it to Kelvin or out to touch and we lose possession. And repeat.

In, last season we got turned away from the Coach & Horses and sent to some hotel up the road, so will do pubs elsewhere this time.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

Bradford is I think the only place I've ever been to, where asking for a place to stay was warned away by the locals: "I wouldnt' stay anywhere jere Bradford if i were you, best go elsewhere" Largely irrelevant to this thread but it's the only Bradford story I have. Thanks. IN for all the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

I think Kelvin is probably just too nice a person to play the target man, you have to a bit of git and get in the centre half's face and scrap. That's not his game, or apparently winning headers. He doesn't try for 50/50s and backs out of challenges, he's just way too polite. He's best with the ball...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

BFTG I think you have to give Richardson some credit for his tactics - Blackpool play with 352 so we just needed Kywera to get 1:1 with the centre half and they were in trouble. There was a lot of hoofball and we seemed to lose a lot of midfield battles but I was always pretty confident we'd win aft...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

I know we've had some shit refs this season but this one was bad, 1min ET for the first half and 4 for the second when it should have been double that. I'll let him off for the most blatent handball but the foul shortly afterwards was a foul every time outside of the penalty area. Follow that up wit...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Fireworks after were as disappointing as the game , fitting for a miserable cold wet November day. Considering we have a new manager, this was a woeful performance , didn't see anything difference from Hunt time, and nothing to give hope Charlie's wonder goal saved the day but apart from that it wa...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Only realised recently just how far from Salford the Peninsula Stadium actually is. Old Trafford and the Etihad are practically the same distance away, whereas I'd assumed they'd just be over the water from OT. I was going to do a game at Salford, thinking it would be walkable from either Salford C...

Re: World Cup 2026

All 3 Scottish goals were good, as was the Danish second goal. Their first goal was a very dodgy penalty, is the penalty area the inside or outside of the line? It seemed to me Roberston was just touching the outside of the line and the attacker threw himself over his outstretched leg. If it's the i...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Snowflake Royal Fancy a win. Rotherham are in fine form, but that just means they're due a hiccup.

Probably tempting fate here, but I watched the Luton v Rotherham game last Saturday and both teams looked pretty poor.

Sherif looked decent as a target man but also went off injured.
