Re: Confimred - Matt Ritchie

Any hints as to whether a transfer was paid or not?

Seems like a good option to have as a wing/wing back to me; scored 5 goals for Pompey last season as well.

Re: Confimred - Jack Marriott

Personally, I don't know enough about the guy to give a Championship Manager critique of him, but I am very happy to give him every opportunity before bringing our the flaming torches and pitchforks, and genuinely hope he makes a success of being a Reading player.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

For a whole host of reasons, this game is assuming "must win" proportions.

We need to show that the positives from the last 3 games (all unbeaten) can be converted into goals and most especially, League points.

And I think we will do just that.

3-0 Reading.

Re: MATCHWATCH : AFC Wimbledon (h)

Enjoyable game to watch (on Sky - terrible commentary!); Wimbledon are no mugs (and are masters of the dark arts!) and will surprise a lot of teams this season; we did well to beat them last night. I thought Fraser had a really good game even without his stunning goal; is there any way we can play h...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

Classic smash and grab to get a point, but you can’t polish a turd, we looked like a pub team most of the game , not clue looking at the players how it’s going to change. God help us if we lose Wing . The problem is wing. And it’s not his fault. But this all stems from Bindon and mbengue going. The...

Gunny Fishcake Oh for a dirty 0-0

+1

I truly don't care if it is a rubbish game and the Sky commentators bemoan the "lack of quality" (cliche alert for tonight), let's get an ugly, terrible, desperate 0-0.

Re: Rival Watch

In amongst all of the posts concerning that GIF (and yes, it WAS Chelsea away, but after the 1st Reading goal rather than the 2nd....) our friends in Oxford were granted planning permission for their new stadium late last week. Good news for them, and - rivalry not withstanding - I wish them all the...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Ashvir Singh Johal becomes the first Sikh manager in English football league history, taking over at Morecambe after the Panjab Warriors consortium successfully took over at the club. Johal has previously worked as an assistant manager at Wigan, and for Cesc Fabregas at Como. After the new owners s...

Re: Club legend.

It's a completely subjective term; one man's "legend" is another man's "donkey". If every Reading fan could only choose 5 people as "legends", then find out who the top five names were, those would be club legends. And of course, those nominated would only be within the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : AFC Wimbledon (h)

The last time the two clubs played each other was Boxing Day 2003 when Reading presented a gutless display and Wimbledon won 3-0 at the Mad Stad. Whenever we're discussing all-time sh i t performances, across all seasons in all divisions, this one is frequently mentioned and is certainly in my top ...

Oh yeah, and the referee absolutely bottled the handball incident, so far as I could see. Everybody will have their own take on that, however I tend to agree with you stealth and in comparison to the bodybuilding clown that we had last Saturday, I thought, overall, he had a decent game. And if anyt...

Oxford's new stadium has moved a step closer, with the local planners approving the plans.

It now goes in front of the District Council Planning Meeting on August 14th for final approval.

Pepe the Horseman Jess Carter having a shitter.

She is so slow it's scary; the Swedes had obviously seen here in the Group games and thought "weak link; exploit her total lack of pace" and then did so with relish.

Total co-incidence that within minutes of her being subbed, England score twice.

I believe UEFA only consider UN members (as that matches FIFA's membership criteria), unless required to consider another territory by CAS order (see Gibraltar), think UEFA should consider associate membership for self-governing territories and allow them to play in the Nations League. This would a...
