Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

Their recent form is very good, would be happy with a point but have a feeling we might get the win here. Hopefully we've got good plans for January because it feels like Top 6 is up for grabs if we have a good window.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

What a bizarre 2nd half, looking so fragile against 10 men despite being 3-0 up, concede a goal then a penalty but then Joel saves it and Dan K missing a sitter to make it 4-1.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

How in the World are we threatening to throw away a 3-0 lead against 10 men? Seems so Reading FC.

Jesus, was not expecting this! Need to really take advantage, could end up with a big scoreline today.

Re: Favourite Reading game?

3-2 vs Boro 6-0 vs West Ham Highlights of our greatest ever season 3-1 vs Liverpool, obviously a bit of a downer as it's the relegation season but still fondly remember the crowd basically ushering Harper into the goal for the third. 1-2 vs Arsenal just for the equaliser, maddest celebrations I've b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

2nd worst away record in the division vs 2nd worst home record, but they have been improving so not confident at all. Would be happy with a point.

Re: Rival Watch

WestYorksRoyal Vale getting cut adrift and Doncaster dropping like a stone. I think that'll be 2 of the bottom 4. Won't try to guess the other 2.

Looking at form, Rovrum, Mansfield and Wimbledon really struggling right now.

Re: Rival Watch

Hunt deserved to be sacked for drawing at home to Donny and looking shite while doing it, they are atrocious and already 3-1 down to Plymouth. Hoping this isn't any indication of how Plymouth will be on Boxing Day.

Re: Rival Watch

It is starting to look like the top 6 are pulling away from the rest of the division, Stockport hold a 3pt gap ahead of Luton in 7th, 5 of the top 6 have a game in hand and Barnsley in 8th have 3 games in hand!

That said, Burton currently beating 5th place Stevenage away.

Re: Rival Watch

With a table like this, it's another reminder that it's nonsense to have 4 relegation spots. I assume it dates back to regionalisation, with 2 into the northern league and 2 southern. But it's been national for ages and should be 3. It looks like a relatively good team could finish 21st on 55 point...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Club have confirmed on social media that the ‘enhanced fun zone’ has been cancelled due to the weather - unsure if the game itself is at risk. There has been a lot of rain today. It seems quite possible there will be a postponement, I just wish the club would give an update either way now. When was...

I'd love to know the context behind this before I call Howe a oxf*rd but... he's always seemed like a bit of a oxf*rd.

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

The usual role of the director of football is understand and work with the player budget set by those above, negotiate player contracts and negotiate transfer fees in. The player budget this season has been heavily influenced by the new EFL spending rules in place in L1, Couhig mentioned on more th...

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

Jacobson's had one transfer window as effectively a Director of Football (not just at Reading, but generally). We'll see in January as to what lessons may or not have been learned from the summer. I'd describe the summer window as having at least two strategies, perhaps down to the objectives of th...

£30 is a bit of a piss take tbh but probably would have still gone but just a bit apathetic towards the club atm. Can just about drag myself to the home games.

Re: Richardson out

Don't forget the added bonus now of trying to get players in for what looks like a relegation battle. At least in the summer we'd just missed out on the playoffs and had new owners so looked a much better prospect than now. While I appreciate we might be in a relegation battle come January, this is...

Re: Richardson out

Yeah, don't believe the theories that Couhig et al intentionally set up Hunt to fail, if they really didn't want him, the most sensible decision would have been to bin him off in the Summer and let the new man build their own squad. Still, need some big questions of the recruitment in the Summer but...

Unlike the majority here I feel weirdly optimistic for this one, think we'll nick the win.
