Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

[quote="Armadillo Roadkill"]Jacobson, Carey and possibly Couhig need to get Hunt into an office for a formal review. Give him the standard performance review questions: We’re not where we expected to be at this time of the season. Can you explain why? What are you going to do to change the...

Striker STILL urgently required - can we wait until January?

I think we are almost criminally short up front. Kelvin doesn't look any more like scoring than MOM does. Hardly at all. Okine-Peters is miles away from the first team squad. That leaves us with Jack, great start - but he has a bit of a habit of doing this, and then for whatever reason, it comes apa...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Steve blatherwick Jim Leighton Chris woods Kevin Lisbie Steve Blatherwick set up Archie's equaliser in the injury time 1-0 down, 2-1 win against McGhee's Wolves where the injury time only occured because of an injury to Gilksey, who was playing for Wolves. I thinks that almost qualifies him for leg...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

A while back I had a go at recent-ish players with common surnames who I reckon most fans would find hard to place. Here's some: A Smith N Smith B Smith K Jones S Brown A Wright B Roberts J Young M Dobson J Kelly S Kelly J Taylor R Scott Yep remember all of them. Alex Smith Neil Smith Ben Smith Kei...

Re: Nathan Ferguson

Got another big injury at the beginning of the week. Career over That's awful. After a fairly lengthy period of fitness, pre-season with Pompey, and then looking head and shoulders above with us at 21 level. Really feel for the guy. BTW - do you know why Paudie is so far behind? Do you know how clo...

Re: Rumour - Gareth Ainsworth

I assume that if it ever comes to having to negotiate compensation with a club whose manager you’ve just poached, it probably doesn’t help your case if you’ve gone on record several months earlier with your plan to do it. And whatever names Couhig had in mind in the summer doesn’t mean any of them ...

I've been told that it's likely Abrefa goes to Bromley on loan today, as part of Cheek signing for us. I've no more details.

Re: Speculationish Tyler Robert’s and Jack Marriott

It's claimed his wages are circa 6k per week, which would probably fit our model. It's been a while since he scored regularly though - I'm not sure Wrexham would get 500k. Could do a lot worse, but I'm afraid I'm not particularly excited.

Re: Michael Cheek (Bromley)

The last time I posted on here (I think!) I told those reading that Le Fondre was on his way, before anyone else (again, I think, it's been a while) I'm told this morning we watched Bromleys Michael Cheek yesterday (he scored) and we're likely to bid this week. Figure mentioned to me was £300k. The...

We are interested in Hiram Boetang

Under 24 so some compensation payable. IMO a bit inconsistent, but capable of these sort of moments. A number of clubs interested and we are one.

New winger + possible new striker

We are closing to raiding Swansea's reserves for winger Dyer. Fee of about £350,000. Player in advanced talks. We have also scouted Exeter City's Jayden Stockley a few times. They spent 100k of the incoming Watkins to Brentford money, and will want a healthy return. Norwich and Birmingham also inter...

Re: Carrico Watch

Brayson must be past 250 goals now, and earns more than a lot of L2 players do. He played for England C, Cardiff, Cheltenham and York. He is a non league legend in the NE and actually parks arses on seats. And the ball hit the inside of the post V Forest and trickled along the line. My then wife cri...

Re: Rumour - Le Fondre To West Brom

If the club has any sense, they will give him a moderate contract increase, as if we go down, he will (should) be one of the first picks. He is the 5th top English scorer in the prem, and has scored more than so called many 'names' from abroad. He will end up with 13/15 goals mostly from the bench i...

Half a dozen at best. Frequently less. Point being, Adkins could be seen as a sideways move.

New manager, split decision.

The 'old guard' JM, NH and NH favour Dolan until the end of the season. AZ wants a name, which won't be Adkins, who has had Southampton leaking goals, spent a fortune and has been half a dozen points at best above us most of the season. Expect PDC or a continental manager with a middling profile, al...

1) Keep MD until Jan then see where we are. 2) If we are being brave, Tisdale, Bashir, Dolan, 3) If we are being more conservative (or sensible) RDM, Solskjear (sp). For crying out loud try Pog and Alf (I love JR but he has never set the pl alight) Guthrie, Pearce and Morrison together. Tabb and Leg...
