Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Hound thinks it was a 3-4-2-1... but Nyambe barely crossed the halfway line first half whilst § Doyle and Lane drifted from left wing to AM to right wing, often both in the same place at the same time and leaving oxf*rd enormous holes in their wake. Hell, they both came into wingback or DM position...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Missed the game. Anyone have any idea how we lined up? BBC seemed to think it was a 4-3-2-1, but Dorsett being interchangably a CB and FB, we could have shaped up to be 3 at the back with Roberts and Nyambe WBs in a sort of 3-4-2-1, or obviously something fluid between the two. I was hoping the los...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Ward did look good. Aggressive as well. Couple of mistakes but lots of potential It was a shame not to see Young. Lane, Doyle and Ritchie all too similar and just don’t do enough for me. Would play one of those plus Kelvin and Young. Think we’d be a far more interesting watch We don’t look miles of...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Pretty much a standard display this year - pretty unconvincing throughout but as Ian said we’re very efficient in the opposition box. 3 shots on target, 2 goals

Our goals per shots on target must be exceptionally high

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Starting to score goals from set pieces which is a big plus

Not a good game against a dreadful Wigan side but it’s 3 points

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Not a defender, but not quite sure what was happening at RB. Nyambe was marking the man, then someone else came across and just sort of did nothing. Nyambe decided "oh someone else is there so I don't need to bother marking him". The man doing nothing continued doing nothing. Guy crossed ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Well that was about as much fun as a hard kick in the knackers

Doyle and Marriott looking reasonably sharp tbf. Ward looked decent enough

That’s my positives from it

Imagine tonight will be too soon for Rino. Maybe a spot on the bench but more likely Saturday I’d have thought

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Would like to see the above but with Kelvin in for Lane. Possibly Ward for Burns though I think Paudie is pretty lucky to stay in

Really hope he doesn’t go Lane/Ritchie/Doyle/Marriott up to bit suspect he will

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wimbledon (a)

Tbf again managers saying they need another few windows is also a cliche trotted out I mean it may be true but I’d have hoped to see better performances on the pitch tbh - not so much results which have been ok We don’t really seem to have any attacking plan. It seems to just be hope Marriott gets a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wimbledon (a)

Three issues (at least): Our CBs are very poor on the ball - hence when a team plays the high press we lose the ball constantly Our CMs are technically good but weak - see above Our strikers are small and weak - so when we hoof it forward we just lose the ball. Today also our GK was poor - but norm...

Re: Richardson to Blackburn

I’m a little suprised if they are really keen on him He’s done well here so far but I wouldn’t say he’s done a lot more than address some pretty obvious failings. Just been very well backed in the window Not like he’s made us brilliantly entertaining or pulled a couple of players out the academy/res...

Re: How best to approach the rest of the season

We seem to have a half decent u21 side but without anyone really pushing to come through. Ahmed prob the closest, maybe Patton will get a look in next year if this loan goes well. The new lad from Liverpool sounds like he’s rated Don’t think Osho or Coke-Miles-Smith will be rushed in Suspect it’s cu...
