Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

I was against trying for an abandonment before yesterday and even during the invasion I thought the protesters should have left the pitch before the game was called off. My reasoning was that I don’t think it will have any effect on Mr Dai and the EFL, for all their contribution to the situation, no...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Eastleigh (a)

Lewis Smith was also the referee against Ipswich in the EFL Cup so could oversee us getting knocked out of two cup competitions in the same season.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

As has been mentioned most of the online football media reported an 84th minute equaliser for Wycombe. Did something happen around that time in the game ? Goal disallowed or shot into the side netting ?

There is no quick way by public transport but by train Reading to Oxford and Oxford to High Wycombe takes about an hour and a half.

Re: Reading's Penalty Shoot Out Record

Beat West ham on the evening of 9/11, Wycombe away around 3 years ago. As far as I can make out the full record on penalty shoot outs is this: Won Lost ⋅  Feb 1993 - Exeter City (a) (League Trophy thing) L 4-2 ⋅  Feb 1998 - Cardiff City (h) (FAC4) W 4-3 ⋅  Sep 2001 - W...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Apologies if this has been discussed before but if Wilder is the new boss are there any ex Blades that he might want here ? That pleasant young man Billy Sharp for instance to see if he can do better this time or any slightly younger players ?

Re: Rival Watch

I watched the Wigan game and Coventry’s decision making in the final third stopped them winning comfortably. Maybe could say the same about the game against them at the SCL. Wigan however at least gave it a go and got a fortunate equaliser. I doubt we would have come back under the same circumstance...

Re: Another 6 point, points deduction incoming

Apologies if this has been said before but in my opinion the only parties who should know about the threat of the points deduction at this stage are the EFL, the independent panel who adjudicate and Reading FC and at the moment everyone else should be in blissful ignorance. Even once the threat had ...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

[quote="paultheroyal" my understanding is we are not paying a penny for Rahman or Hendrick - the only caveat is they must start in 90% of games if fit.[/quote] This could be part of the problem. Kieran Maguire on one of his recent podcasts said that this kind of loan condition would break ...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

I’m guessing there’s something we’ve misunderstood in the plan and expected to be allowed when in actual fact it wasn’t. I found it worryingly naive when they expected the EFL to allow us to sign Sarr before Puscas went out on loan on the promise of that happening in the future so I’ve little faith ...

One to add to 'they played for both clubs' is Colin Gordon. In fact, after ending his playing career he became the chairman and owner of Kidderminster Harriers and acted as caretaker manager on a few occasions. He has no current involvement though having now sold the club.

Re: Olise being sold for £8m?

The article in the Mail does appear to be scaremongering (shock. horror) and as the previous poster says it's purely an administrative issue at this stage. The football finance expert Kieran Maguire has tweeted ''Issue arises because under Covid-19 emergency legislation clubs have an extra three mon...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

There is such a panic in some quarters that, despite the comments made by the medical experts, I think the Government will come under severe pressure to take action on mass gatherings and will do so fairly soon, initially probably allowing football to continue behind closed doors. I fear this could ...
