Re: Low point of the Dai era

Not sure of the accuracy of this.

No way Matt Carson played 172 games for us.

Good friends with Pereira too so hopefully this will also help with that negotiation.

Very promising start.

Re: Low point of the Dai era

Thought we'd have this poll to remind ourselves how dire the past 8 years have been. Perhaps we can pin it so that if we moan about an uninspiring result against Doncaster, we can remind ourselves how much worse it could be. Struggling with specific moments from the earlier years; I toyed with Clem...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Theoretical... you're Rob Couhig and you successfully buy Reading FC. Reading miss the POs, Hull get relegated and sack Selles. Selles was in charge when you originally tried to buy the club... would you try to bring him back, stick with Hunt, try to bring in a statement quality manager, or go bats...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Is Akande injured?

He's raw and in any logical circumstance "not ready" but needs must. He does however possess explosive pace which could work from the bench especially on a day like today when we're creating nothing else.

Edit. Lol Hound.

15k home fans isn’t to be sniffed at is it?

Regular Saturday at 3 would make this 17k plus. Perfectly ok I’d have thought

So sorry for your loss CR.

Re: January transfer window

Would imagine Brian Carey played a massive role. It was all down to Carey. He has a very good rep out there. Bowen certainly seemed to be some part of the original signings - but does seem Carey has been involved throughout Obvs those signings of Savage, Elliott and even Perreira may one day bring ...

Substitutions on the hour, you know they're pre-planned and nothing to do with how shit we've been.

Snowflake Royal We just can't cope if you actually mark us tightly. A lesson it would be nice if we learnt rather than always starting 10 yards off our man when defending, ourselves.

Thats the area we miss Elliot's ability to wriggle out of tight spots to create space.

Sutekh Norwood credited with an assist for both

Not sure how unless he somehow managed to head his own corner for the first goal.

Re: Weekend Football

Personally, I'd be more confident of Forest NOT making CL than Liverpool winning the title. Liverpool have been brilliant for large parts of the 1st half of the season, whereas Arsenal have been rather underwhelming - yet they sit only 4 points behind, are (maybe) about to sign a much-needed strike...

Re: Players who started off great and stayed great/got better

I posted his stats elsewhere, but Doyle basically did this. 4 seasons that coincide with our best, kept in on for one season post-relegation and then goes for big money. Solid career thereafter but nothing as great as his time here. Slight tangent but for managers, going to go Pardew. The sense of ...

Re: Players who started off good but became terrible

John salako my recollection of the John Salako story was that while on loan he was amazing - so much so that Pardew did a data-driven PowerPoint presentation for the Board (before such things became mainstream) to convince them to sign him permanently - with all sorts of Opta style data points (bef...

Linden Jones' Tash
bakerlou WRTtOP as Brayson has already had a mention, Jimmy Crawford.

in my 39 years of watching Reading, I can honestly say that Jimmy Crawford was singularly the worst player I have ever seen don the hoops

Only because Mark Reilly was so anonymous that everyone forgets him.

Re: Player of the half a season

Some very good performances by all the aforementioned (Pereira tends to get overlooked a little) but the answer is Bindon by a country mile in my opinion.

I’d have thrown Elliott into the mix as well as he adds something to the team in transition that we don’t otherwise have.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (h)

I'd definitely rotate, but keep it fairly strong. Why out of interest? More so than usual? If someone is carrying an injury or desperate for a break then fair enough. Otherwise don’t see any reason to Protection, plus best opportunity to give those on the edge minutes they may need for jumping in. ...

I hope it’s just a bit of mind over matter, but what Hunt said about Craig below has made me wonder if Craig or his agent is angling for a move. “The scan came back, and it looked okay but he’s still feeling pain so we can only go off Michael. We have to take it day-by-day and see how it goes but a...
