Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

What do mackems have down their tops? The bitter tears of indignation and envy. They're obsessive about how irrelevant they think Newcastle are. Until you live down this way nobody realises how intense (and daft) the rivalry and animosity is between Saints and Pompey which was originally based on t...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

+1, They finished 12th on 45 points under Steve Bruce. On their current form, they will finish with 46 points. That's after spending 100s of millions!! Tha Geordie Nation will divent be having it like!! Loosely related - i know a mackem who is Sunderland fan and we chat football sometimes. He seems...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Not loads of contact? I'd suggest having a look at the video again. He had his arms around Williams and was pulling him back from the point that the initial shot from the edge of the area came in. That's a good 5 seconds and at no point did the defender make any attempt to play the ball rather than ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Anywhere outside the 6yd box and it would have been a yellow but it's denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Williams is 3yds out with a clear shooting opportunity and Ralls is pulling him back a good second or two before the ball arrives, then wrestles him to the floor. There's absolutely no atte...

There was a Plymouth fan who used to post on here (T-Rex)?

Absolute bellend.

Re: Ex Royals

I'd suggest that if we'd kept Wareham, we wouldn't have signed Marriott.

Marriott's a better finisher but I think Wareham is a better all round player and with a 10 year age difference, their career trajectories are going in opposite directions.

Re: 40 years ago today...

Remember the atmosphere more than the game itself. We were utter garbage for 60 minutes but the atmosphere turned when we got the penalty. When we made it 3-1 there was a collective sense of "we can win this". We absolutely battered them for 15 minutes and when we got the second Plymouth j...

Re: Ex Royals

Bindon's goal was a great header but the defending was shocking, like the parting of the Red Sea. Good thing he's not agoraphobic.

You won't see a freer header ever.

I know Madejski trusted him but this doesn't change my overall opinion that he's always been a bit of a chancer.

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

Is this the same Nigel Howe who was banned from all footballing activities earlier this year for offering illegal payments to agents?

Re: Scottish premier league.

I'd take Robinson as a manager here.

Spent his whole playing career in the Football League and whilst St Mirren aren't the prettiest team to watch, they're well organised and hard to beat.

Re: Scottish premier league.

And Nancy's start at Celtic goes from bad to worse as St Mirren win 3-1 in the League Cup Final.

Stephen Robinson is a decent manager who has consistently got St Mirren punching about their weight.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

Went in 2004 and 2015 and talked to Bradford fans walking to and from the game. I cant recall many other places where there seemed to be such racial tension. They didn't exactly say I wouldn't live here, but they did say it was now nothing like the place it used to be I worked there between 2006 an...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bradford City (a)

It's really not that bad a place although it's populated by more than it's fair share of cretins and arseholes.

Obviously it's brilliant for curries but there's also a thriving microbrewery scene. Just avoid driving at all costs.

Re: Rumour - Benn Ward

I'd expect Bradford to be favourites. If nothing else, it's commutable from the Accrington/Burnley area so would offer him the least disruption outside of football.

Unless, of course, he wants to move back down south.

Re: Scottish premier league.

Not a good start for Wilfried Nancy at Celtic. Loses to title rival Hearts and becomes a bit of a meme messing around on the bench with a mini tactic board a la Amorim at Grimsby. Also said the following in his post match interview: “I’m not about losing or winning, I’m about having a good performa...
