Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Royalwaster Agree - nice touch - but means they cannot announce all those new signings and Kelvin's contract renewal :-)

They can- - the post was yesterday.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Think Doyle would be an excellent signing. Was impressed by him against us last season, and would have that throwback 2010s vibe of signing players that play well against us!

Re: Ex Royals

Brum Royal John Swift still available on a free, and due to the play in the out of contracts match at Workington at the weekend. Surprised no club has come in for him yet

I'm sure some have, just not what he's after in terms of level/wage and he's holding out to see what else comes along.

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Melts on Twitter moaning about the likely 4- 5 years to establish ourselves in the Championship. What do they expect? SJM was all about strong foundations and building brick by brick. I'm more than happy to spend a few years in L1 if I'm position about the club's direction. It is also 'established'...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Not overly worried about Wareham, he showed flashes last season but in reality would likely just be a squad player in the long term. If Exeter see him as a starter (perhaps with wages to match/higher than what we were prepared to offer) then I can see why he'd have made that call. WiFI and Craig tho...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Preseason starts this week. Would be good to be able to at least be able to put out a contracted XI by Thursday. Club have just announced Clarke & Ryan re-signing which is a start. Imagine they'll be daily updates this week. Which Clarke would that be again? Presumably not Boyce-Clarke, did Jah...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Only real surprise there is Akande being released. But then again, played less and less as the season went on, maybe Hunt wasn't keen on him.

Holzman just didn't seem good enough, sadly.

Fingers crossed those offered contracts sign. See Yids has been offered one!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wrexham (h)

Disagree. We decided to switch who tactics and therefore who would take the kick. You see it happen in pretty much every game of football involving every team and in most cases it is not being done to waste time. We had no need to waste time at that point as we were giving as good as we got and loo...

windermereROYAL 3000 noisy Brummie`s and a likely dicking, and a ref that sent off Holzman at Lincoln what`s not to like about this game?

Oh great, that one. Was more annoyed about the blatant pen that wasn't given on Smith than the red card tbf

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h)

Actually quite looking forward to this one, Reading do have a habit of turning up against 'better' oppoistion when you least expect it, recent examples being Burnley and Pompey last season. Plus actually don't mind the 12.30pm kick off this time, as means I can get back into town in time for the rug...

Not if they are required to be identifiable to the opposition, which is what I believe the law is intended to deal with. Again, it’s lack of clarity in the law. Us guessing on work arounds when we don’t know what the law is doesn’t help. If the law is ambiguous its not enforceable. If it doesn't sp...

Our best ball-playing central midfielder being injured for the majorty of Hunt's tenure does not help the style of football

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (h)

I really don't think our attendances are that bad. 11k isn't far below this or last season's average. It's not far off the level we got last time we were here and a lot more than we often got historically at this level. We may have got a lot more relatively ,recently, but that's in a higher divisio...

Re: Craig to Stevenage

Don’t think there was likely a fire sale - more just the sale of a couple of our best players. Still think Bindon and Garcia won’t be with us after 3rd Twitter convinced itself that there would be a fire sale, based on nothing - I suspect it was more certain characters trying to wind up people into...

If Smith is out then I'd play Knibbs up top rather than Wareham. Worked ok at Stevenage

Yes, we certainly do seem to be being funded by someone at the moment (and we all know who that isn't!).
Does suggest that something is in the works, but refusing to get my hopes up just yet.

Re: FA Cup 1st round draw Monday 14th October

The sting in the tail with this is apparently the Cambridge league game will still take place on the Tuesday so 48 hours later. That means we will play a similar side to Cheltenham in the cup. That's crap. Neither team plays until 3pm Saturday the next weekend so no reason why the Cambridge game co...

Not selected for live TV according to FA website Moved to Sunday at 2pm though. Bit odd to move it if its not? International coverage match i expect. Chosen by the BBC for extended highlights Fair enough. Shame we don't get the TV money (unless we get some for international coverage?) and I'm sure ...
