Re: Football stats

South Coast Royal
Sutekh
South Coast Royal
Is it a "what" or a "who"?

Is it Mark McGhee?

I thought that to start with but Real Madrid?
I then thought about the fair haired forward we had on loan who played in Germany as well as for us but didn't he play for Barcelona?

Steve Archibald ?

Re: The Non - League thread

Statement from Hungerford FC chairman. https://www.hungerfordtown.com/news/club-statement-2962098.html Isn’t Carter Bowdery-Blue on loan there currently? Wonder how much Hungerford paid for that sort of loan or whether Reading have just loaned him. Non league clubs paying loan fees ? Not a chance…....

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Carter Bowdray, on loan at Hungerford, scored his first senior goal today and was MOTM. Playing in a struggling team and a difficult pitch he’s looked quality in his games so far.

Re: One more in.

The Bodin / Davies incident was in a game v Wolves. A young Robbie Keane was involved, provoking a reaction from Davies which Bodin took the rap for. We didn’t appeal because we had no other fit centre backs at the time. Bodin was a perfectly competant full back.

Re: US Political situation - Any impact on Reading FC?

Interesting times. Given the spotlight on anything or anyone connected to the USA at the current time. Goodwill can soon disappear to be replaced by outright negativity. Should we boycotting or protesting at the Barnsley/Louisiana Day as a general protest against f*****g Yanks generally rather than...

Re: Expecting two to be announced today/very soon

People who have seen him play, one would presume? He played for a Bolton side that were good going forward, but looked soft at the back. Played three games in about the last calendar year, reportedly had two injuries recently. Signed for Swansea in the summer and is now available having played one ...

Is access to games at Bearwood strictly STH only ? I fancy going to a game but am no longer a STH. Is the TO at all flexible if you have a long history on the system ?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

10 points from 4, can't complain though I'm people will find a reason to. Finally looking up instead of down when I look at the table. Stockport is a good opportunity to close the gap on the top 6. Some good January reinforcements and we can have a real good go at crashing the party. I’m not sure w...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Carter Bowdery has signed on loan for Hungerford. Came on as a sub on Saturday and impressed. Interesting that he’s the 5th Bradfield College pupil to get a pro football contract. Can’t be many private schools producing footballers, much more rugby and cricket territory. Have you seen my post today...

Re: Berks & Bucks Senior Cup 2025/6

It's insanity really. Would've gone if it was the Wednesday, but obviously can't with it clashing with the first team. Yep, madness. Would have been a major IN! for this. Well done R&R. Sadly local FAs really are the law and the judge in these things so would be amazed if they allowed for a rea...

Re: Ex Royals

He's been in the Academy for several years. More home grown than Long, whether he's as home grown as McIntyre doesn't really come into it. Rushesha basically came in as an academy graduate from another club at the edge of the first team from day 1 He was 20 when he signed, and was here for two seas...

Re: Ex Royals

I may be misunderstanding but you seem to be suggesting Wellens was home grown ? Just go with it. It's easier to just agree with him. Heaven forbid we could manage our own reasonable conversation, whether it involves a difference of opinion on 'home grown' or not, without you having a pop. Indeed, ...

Re: Ex Royals

He's not going to be playing ahead of Wing or Savage... or even really coming on for them. Would he be playing ahead of Doyle, Elliott, Fraser? Not really. Needed the move to play, and its going brilliantly for him. Glad to see it So while I do think there's been a lot of fuss about the quality of ...

Re: Top winger individual performances

One for the oldies - shame we didn't get longer to enjoy him before his then big money (£60K then - £881K now) move to Southampton. Tommy Jenkins five goals in just 21 games. Bought from Margate for £500 just 6 months earlier, although we did then have to pay them an appearance bonus of £1,000 afte...

Re: Ex Royals

How does RS justify it? It's within the rules. Yeah, if he wants to dick about and use subs to play the match with a team that's ineligible to start, that's on him. And the consequence is he has fewer subs to manage the rest of the game. With 7 subs available using 2 early seems a pretty innovative...
