Mr Brightside I agree it for some reason seems to be a tactic to play every corner near post...come on lads

IdealCorky341 last season and the one before, Ingi & Sonks (and others) scored from corners and other set pieces.
You make a very good point, we did score quite a few goals from corners.
I think Ingimarsson was much more aggressive last season, he would come running into the box from just outside, while this season everybody just stands about in a stationary position.
The clue to scoring on corners has to be movement to lose your marker, you have to stand a bit outside the box, move from side to side and then run forward into the box having lost your man.
Also the delivery on corners has been absolutely abysmal. It seems to always be too low (ankle height), near post keeper food, or even behind goal.
This has to change.

Zammo Historically Reading have always been poor with corners. Dunno why. Berkshire air ?

Typically we are a small team - and especially this year. Trying to get anything from corners against defenders the size of those that Villa, Evertonb, Bolton, etc, etc have is pretty fruitless, regardless of the quality of the delivery.

PEARCEY Yes I agree with the views on corners as we are not making them count. Our central defenders dont seem to be getting anything out of them although Hunt's delivery has been very poor with either his failure to get the ball over the first defender or as with Saturday hiting the ball straight out of play which was a total waste

Mr Brightside Thats another thing, Hunt. He's been great for us, but his set piece delivery has never been amazing. Would rather Marek, or Shorey takes them.
