of course they need to prove themselves, and we need more incoming than we did in 06/07
but back then the majority on here thought that we only had 2 or 3 prem standard players, and we finished 8th with the addition of only seol

Does that make them Premiership quality?

Probably only Jason Roberts of our current bunch is premier league quality. All the others need to prove themselves

That's a cop out answer

Do you think they have the ability to make a good contribution next year?

teignmouth hoops
TBM
teignmouth hoops at Birmingham was pretty average

So were the other 12

Surely he and Church had more to play for as they'd not had much pitch time in the previous games

Thats easier said though....when they haven't had much pitch time then its harder to be match fit, they would have needed a good 3-4 games to show their worth, not 90mins in a game nobody gave a shit about

Reckon HRK can, don't think Church will get the chance given that he was 4th/5th choice by the end of this season, they both have the ability too, but its the consistency and intelligence that might let them down.

I thought Stephen Hunt wouldn't get near our team in the Premiership and Sonko and Little would go on to become solid premiership players and move on to bigger things eventually so who knows

winchester_royal Interesting that Connolly's gone back to QPR rather than to Spain with the rest of the squad, perhaps suggests that a permanent deal isn't quite as inevitable as some on here would have us believe.

We've made a bid for him. Also a very reliable source that tends to get the figures correct says we've offered £900k, so it does sound like we want to keep him here.

The fact he's gone back may also be something to do with the fact that QPR's season isn't over yet (despite them playing as if they were on the beach on Sunday)

Struggling to understand why we would make a bid. I cannot say I saw anything in his performances to make it worth keeping him. He was particularly poor at Birmingham. First time I can remember BM bringing on a defensive substitute when we were losing.

He looked pretty good in the other 5 games, which were the only ones which meant anything. Seems decent cover to me. More so than Mate or Sodje were for sure.

I find it doubtful we'll get him if QPR go down though.

Christ, i hope not. BM did say that he wanted to get the transfers in early for a change.

I can't handle 3 1/2 months of speculation, much of it complete bollox!

When asked today about any new signings he said "watch this space", so hopefully we'll see our first one or two in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone like to see Ryan Bertrand back?

I was wondering that and then saw http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2134159/Reading-considering-Chelseas-Ryan-Bertrand.html

Just waiting for the premier league to confirm Anton as owner and then he'll sanction some moves

might like to see him.....but cannot see it happening

An up and coming, ongoing replacement for Cashley...why would Chelsea want to lose him?

and besides we gave him the bird when he turned up on loan for Forest

Years loan, to get more PL experience before taking over from Cashley in 2013/14?
