Clyde1998 Mark O’Mahony confirmed in the Ireland U21 squad for their qualifiers against Moldova and Andorra: https://www.fai.ie/latest/under-21-squa ... ualifiers/

No Charlie Savage in the Wales first team squad (unsurprisingly): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... y5zjpznqlo

No Paddy Lane for Northern Ireland: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... l6y5rz2y0o

We normally postpone games on international breaks but maybe this time we won’t need to as I cannot see many Northampton players getting call ups.

Enough squad depth to handle a few missing players and surely it will be better to avoid fixture pile up later?

If we beat Vale on Saturday (which I think we will), we'll also be desperate to keep up the momentum in another winnable game against Northampton, instead of having a 2 week break and a tough trip to Barnsley.

But if O'Mahony is out on international duty, who's going to score the goals?

rabidbee But if O'Mahony is out on international duty, who's going to score the goals?

Marriott, Ehibhatiomhan and if Brogue is right, another striker in the pipeline.

I think that was somewhat tongue-in-cheek....

Mamadi Camara confirmed as being away with Guinea-Bissau: https://www.cafonline.com/fifa-world-cu ... ualifiers/

I think we need three away to allow us to request a postponement of a fixture. All the England youth squads get announced tomorrow (relevant for Andre Garcia), whilst I don’t know if countries like Montserrat (Jeriel Dorsett) even have fixtures this time.

There looks to be a full set of World Cup qualifiers including South America and Caribbean regions.

Montserrat are out of qualifying and aren't a side that are easily going to arrange friendly matches.

It could come down to whether Garcia is away with an England youth side.

Was about to post this.

Does mean we have enough away on international duty now to justify the Northampton postponement.

Mamadi Camara started and played 79 minutes for Guinea-Bissau in their 1-1 draw with Sierra Leone in World Cup qualifying this evening. Former Reading loaner and current Northampton midfielder Tyrese Fornah started for the opposition (despite not being listed in their originally published squad list).

Mark O’Mahony played 65 minutes of Ireland U21’s 2-1 win over Moldova in Euro U21 qualifying.

Tivonge Rushesha was on the bench for Zimbabwe's 1-0 defeat in Benin in World Cup qualifying on Friday, which sees Zimbabwe eliminated from qualifying. Their next game is at home to Rwanda on Tuesday.

Guinea-Bissau play their next game on Monday against bottom of the group Djibouti; Ireland U21 play Slovakia on Wednesday in Cork.

Clyde1998 Mamadi Camara starting for Guinea-Bissau against Djibouti. The match has started and can be watched for free on FIFA+.

Guinea-Bissau won 2-0, with Camara getting an assist from a in-swinging cross. Camara played wide in a midfield three (similar to what Ben Elliott does), playing on the left behind Brest's Mama Baldé, and was taking the set plays (can't say I recommend he takes them for us based on what I've seen today).

Aside from the set plays and the cross for the second goal, which originated from a short corner played back to him, Camara was largely anonymous throughout the game. Using the Elo ratings for context of these sides' ability, Guinea-Bissau are comparable to the Faroe Islands or Lithuania within Europe and Djibouti are comparable to Liechtenstein. Worth saying Guinea-Bissau completely dominated the play, which may be why Camara wasn't massively involved in the role he was utilised - as the ball was typically ahead of him.

No Savage for Wales. Might be on reserve squad but good news for those of us going to Exeter a week Saturday.

Camara
Rushesha
O'Mahoney

are the most likely and that takes us to the 3, right?

Dorsett is also a possible, Garcia depending on England age groups

No idea where Exeter are on this - two or three look possible.

While normally I'd say we should be able to handle easily with these missing, it might be a strategic decision to request the postponement due to all the defensive injuries we currently have.

Garcia surely won't be called up with his injury.

Camara is also currently injured isn't he?
