Barney
South Coast Royal
Barney So when we talk about the club's poor attitude to the FA Cup....this is where we have reached recently....

20/21 3rd round
19/20 5th round
18/19 3rd round (Man ure)
17/18 4th round
16/17 3rd round (Man ure)
15/16 quarter-finals
14/15 semi-finals

Over the last 7 seasons, if we avoid those painful plastic devon-based mancs, it isn't too bad.

In the last 7 seasons we have reached the last 16 3 times, way way better than most non-Prem teams.

Please note my account will self-destruct at 16.50 tomorrow :D

Don't forget that we have come in at the 3rd round stage in all of those seasons so overall our record is fair but not much better.

My son caught the 7-47 train from Bournemouth this morning and is flying the family flag today.
Whatever team we put out , unless it is overloaded with youngsters which would be crazy, I expect a win today.

You are of course correct SCR. Blimey...I can recall MANY seasons when just REACHING the third round was regarded as a success.
Fair play to your lad....hope he has a great day :D

Yes I remember the days of managing to slog your way through 2 rounds to get a crack at a team you’d only ever seen on the telly and listening to the radio at 5pm on 2nd round day (these were the days when the fa cup draws were only on bbc radio 2 sports report after all the 2nd round games had been played) and finding you’d got that “plum” tie at Barnsley or Swansea etc.

I know I shouldn't, but I got intensely irritated by Football Focus this lunchtime, and their dismissive and patronising attitude towards us.

And yes, I understand the whole "romance of the cup" (copyright BBC) schtick, but it would have been nice to have even had a passing nod towards us as more than merely the team that Kidderminster are going to be playing today.

Prior to the programme, whilst wanting a win (obvs) I wasn't too bothered......after it, I would like us to get double figures against them and really humiliate them!

A good cup run should give us much needed extra dosh to afford pauno’s severance pay.

I get that, but it's not Kidderminster's fault. It's down the very one dimensional approach of the BBC, nothing more. And how Alex Scott keeps getting the gigs is beyond me.

She's hot, and better than half the male pundits.

Prefer Michelle Owen myself!!
Alex is better as a pundit than a presenter. But then I suppose she can only get better - thinking back, Lineker was pretty awful at first.

Nice work Michael, good to hear he’s doing well (from the bbc)

It is all about Michael Olise this half. He has been absolutely sensational.

The hypocrisy of the BBC and their 'romance of the cup' stinks. So romantic that they don't bother to televise the lowest ranked team left in the competition, playing at home to a sell out crowd against a struggling much higher ranked club and depriving them of a much needed £85K in the process!

      Rinomhota back

Shame the selection is, frankly, not what I’d hope for.

Weird that Holzman comes from no where to start when Stickland remains on the bench having been on the first team bench a few times, including the last game.

Tetek RB?

Guessing

.....................Cabral
Tetek, Holmes, Holzman, Bristow
..........Drinkwater, Osorio
Halilovic, ...Bashiru, .........Camara
....................Puscas

:?:

Not as bad as I was expecting

I’m ok with it

Would like to have seen Azeez instead of Camara. Otherwise the fbs are auditioning for first team places in Jan.

Suppose it depends on if we win or not as always. It’s certainly not as weak as teams we put out in the cup recently

It seems madness to me to be looking at Tetek out of position as our best option for RB over Araruna.

That would be the same BBC that cream themselves over Man U every single season, an all premier league game on Monday evening romance of the cup my arse.

Araruna has barely played for 15 months, wasn’t amazing before that, whilst Tetek has done ok there (more than ok against Middlesbrough)

Seems reasonable to me. Certainly not madness.
