Extended-Phenotype Positives:
- Didn’t lose, picked up a point away
- Hunt made the required changes
- Midfield looked more balanced
- MOM is showing a bit of promise
- Performance was there, just need to keep the consistency of it up

While not as big as we’d have liked, a step in the right direction.

Think our two best performances were Lincoln and Wycombe, Elliott started both.. giving us a properly balanced midfield.

Which does make it pretty bonkers that Hunt chose Fraser, completely throwing things off, for the intervening 3.

If we'd played like that against Bolton and Wimbledon we'd have dicked them.

As good a performance today was it concerns me that we have played well a couple of times and we've not won. If we had a decent forward we'd have scored a couple more and killed the game off.

Really need a win next week. 4 consecutive home league defeat run needs to end.

We aren’t always privy to what informs a managers selection. Had to be a reason - Hunt wants the best 11 on the pitch just as much as we do. He sees what we see, but sees a lot more behind the scenes we don’t. It’s an odd one, but rarely are decisions as stupid as they look when you are only looking at half the picture.

I think if you get your performances right, the results soon follow.

Very true. I haven’t seen O’Connor yet, but don’t think he could be bullied and that may help us over the line when defending a lead.

Is true of course but his job is to make the right decisions based on what he’s seen, and I’d suggest he hasn’t done that by his constant chopping and changing.

And I guess those most successful managers are the ones that are able to consistently make the right decisions based on that extra info they have

Anyway happy that we played a lot better. That was very impt after the last two horror shows. Certainly something to build on and hopefully the first 11 is starting to shape up

Just back from a long day, such a shame we let that late goal in , it wasn’t a case of hanging on either as we were in total control. Wing and Williams were outstanding and the performance was easily the best this season so far, all be it against a very poor Wycombe side. Stars of the day was the amazing away supporters, incredible noise and show of support who all deserved the win. Onwards and upwards

Yeh, though when you have a new team of players you are going to need to try things and change them when they don’t work. Seems half his detractors are critical of him changing stuff and the other half for not changing things enough. Shrug, I think his trial and error has been reasonable. I still don’t quite get the Elliot/Fraser thing (to the point I wonder if something else was going on - fitness, attitude, potential sale etc), though perhaps it was simply a case of seeing what the new guy was made of. But other than that, I can see why our team sheet has looked the way it has, even if I haven’t entirely agreed with it.
