I'm not very good at this old posters with new usernames malarkey, but am I well wide of the mark with SPARTA being the desperately stupid attention seeker Jay?

No, you are most certainly wide off the mark, Ian. Prior to this account I hadn't contributed on here before, instead I was and still am a regular contributor of The Football Forum (http://www.thefootballforum.net/). You get a lot more out of interacting with other clubs fans all in one place, and you don't get the in fighting you do on here and every other individual clubs forum. I have blogged for @ReadingFC__News in the past, as I have mentioned previously, and link to their account occasionally, as well as Vital Football and others, but I do not manage the accounts.

LoyalRoyalFan How?

How would Harte be suited to a def.mid role? He is still a decent defender, can pass, hold up play and doesn't need a whole lot of pace in that role, where as at left-back he can be exposed by anyone with a turn of speed. He'd be no worse than Leigertwood or Karacan.

Stop living in the past.

Ian Harte is not good enough to play in THIS Reading team. FACT.

1. That is opinion NOT fact.
2. Even if that is a valid opinion, it doesn't change what I said. He is not out of his depth. In fact, he is well within his depth, having the range of experience he has.

You have every right to believe that he is no longer fit enough for this level of football (I happen to disagree, others will not) but to suggest he is out of his depth just shows a lack of comprehension.

Woodcote Royal I know some of you would rather lose a limb than admit that little Nicky has ever been guilty of being slightly less than perfect but, do you think Reading fans might reasonably have expected both of Shorey's feet to have left the ground in an attempt to get his head on the ball before Gareth Barry put in the net :|

The fact that this was not the case makes me very confident that any effort Harte would have made in the same instance would have been both superior and quicker.

HTH

You carry on Woodcote knocking Shorey as you have done for years(I'm not his greatest fan BTW but consider him a better all-round footballer than the arrogant Irishman) and when he costs us the 3 points that leads to our relegation, just as he cost us the £50 million play-off game at Wembley, please come back on here and tell us what a great player he is.
I know you don't go to many games but if you went to a few more games you would see how often the snail leaves us vulnerable at the back-mark my words he will cost us again.

Ian Royal You think people have respect for Woodcote? He gets less respect than I do. And that's bugger all.

I respect, you, but you are an A+ twat

Harte has his future sorted.

As does McAnuff, ffs guys concentrate on what we pay you to do, play Premier League Football,

as for Shorey V Harte, despite his time in the past Harte had almost five years out of the Prem, and struggled to find a club till Carlisle came calling, then us. Shorey took the mick last time we were relegated, which is a shame as he had so much more promise than he has achieved, was real bargainwhen Pards got him here, and was very good for a few seasons for us, but once again that is the past.

So come on Brian, what has Nicky Shorey done?
It must be something really, really bad.
Just to remind you,
Shorey is a better dead-ball kicker than Harte
Shorey is younger and quicker than Harte
Shorey is a better positional player than Harte
Shorey doesn't point a finger at everybody else when he makes a mistake
Shorey was presumably bought to take the place of the elderly Harte.

I can just see Shorey being brought back in to face Valencia and Walcott (a bit harder than facing Wigan and Villa at home)and Brian being delighted that he appears to do no better than Harte (forgetting the standard of the opposition.
Thanks Harte for dragging the rest down to your level.

Harte is probably our best player for positional play
Harte is slow and always has been, it's never been in his game.
Harte as every right to point the finger with Jobi in front of him.
I'd hate to be call elderly at 34.
Ian Harte is well known for having a wand for a left foot so your dead ball line also is utter BS.

Don't hate the player, hate the game

I have thought about it but we are talking about left-backs here and not right-backs.

Just now going to watch yet another master class from our left-back who last week failed to show Pienaar the outside (as pointed out by Nicky Forster) and goes missing in every game that he plays.
Great positional player my a***e.
