Also, absolutely no chance Clarke will be under pressure - has any manager been in trouble having lost only 4 matches out of 16? No.

I realise I may be over reacting a little by the way. But after such toss last season and what seemed to be such a promising season after the transfer window shut, I'm afraid my expectations have been raised and I'm now starting to feel fooled and betrayed as we contrive to be shit again, without any excuses this time.

tidus_mi2
Royal_jimmy 5 games without a win now.

If we don't beat Bolton at home in our next game then serious questions will start being asked of Steve Clarke!

I wouldn't say it's that serious.

We have failed to beat a poor Rotherham side who got dicked 5-2 by Ipswich (a side we tonked 5-1). We collapsed against a Fulham side who were thrashed and we were again awful at the back today. We should have beaten a poor Huddersfield side on Tuesday but gifted them a point.

With the players we have we should be doing much better. Clarke has to take some of the blame!

No excuses against Bolton. If we don't beat a team in the bottom 3 at home then it is an unacceptable result.

Part of me thinks we are still suffering a hangover from Fulham. The Rotherham match was a poor result on reflection looking at their other recent results, but I still think they found another level due to the brand new manager when we played them. We went to Fulham after that and looked as confident and comfortable as we have done for 50 minutes, it's since then we have looked very shaky.

The break comes at a good time, and we have a home match against one of the poorest sides in the division afterwards, which is a great opportunity to get back on the saddle.

Too early to call for Clarke's head, but he's been far too slow to realise that two CMs and four forwards doesn't work for us, especially when neither of the two are particularly physical players.

No excuse for making the same mistake again today. Even if Williams was not fit enough to start (?), he could have played Hector in there, and put Cooper in the back four.

What were we playing when we won 7 games out of 9?

The problem is, when was the last time we came back from an International break looking good?

Also, when was the last time we came from behind to win a match (and without scoring first)? When was the last time we scored a late winner? It feels like we may as well give up if we haven't taken the lead and kept it by the 60th minute, although I'm sure it's not that bad.

4-3-3 with three forwards and three midfielders. Most of it anyway. And you could see the weakness developing from the point Piazon began starting.

We made hard work of Charlton and but for an exceptionally early goal that completely threw Middlesbrough we didn't trouble them a whole lot - mainly because we sat back to defend admittedly.

Agree in part, but we made hard work of the charlton game. I can't help but wonder if we've really been struggling since then. Certainly to my mind, the boro game was the last time we looked like a real quality side.

Portsmouth in the Cup this season.

In the League, Norwich away last season, nearly a year ago.

Adkins was still in charge for Norwich away wasn't he? Not a single win from behind in the League under Clarke?

Let's not understate how much we are missing Quinn, Tshibola, and dare I say it, HRK.

And would we have conceded the goals we did today with a fit Paul McShane? Something to think about.

Seeing as one was Ferdinand's fault and the other was Hector's, yeah, definitely one.

Nope. And the last League win from behind before that, was Doncaster away in 13/14

From the BBC report for those wondering how crucial Marshall's role was in the result today ...
"Reading poured forward late on in a bid to salvage a point, but they were thwarted by an inspired Marshall, whose three sharp saves in a minute prompted a standing ovation from the home fans."
