Leyton Orient 2 down at half time - 13 wins looks safe for another year

Man City with 4 wins out of 4 though, but still a long way to go before the 13 is under threat...

Tiny little village near Stroud and have been known as Stroud in their past. Love to see them make it into the league. Quite probably would be the smallest place to support a football club in league history.

Tony Le Mesmer If you convert from the 2pts for a win era, we only share the record with Lincoln City. But we'll forget all about that.

106 is a pretty bogus record if you convert from 2 pts for a win and adjust for the number of games in a season. For instance the following are among those that beat 106 on this basis:

- Doncaster 1946-47 - 115 points
- Liverpool - 1893-94 - 118 points
- PNE 1888-89 - 121 points

But we'll forget about all those too.

Those dates are completely wrong - football was only invented in 1992

About 9 games before they start threatening it, I reckon.

I'll give you Doncaster as a probable with the equivalent of 105 points from 42 games but the other 2 only played 22 and 28 so you cannot extrapolate those

Number of wins at start of a season record in Danger

by Reading4eva » 10 Sep 2015 15:19

Getting a bit concerned as our record for number of wins at the start of a season is looking in serious doubt. Forest Green Rovers have won 8 out of 8 this season and look unlikely to slow down. They have suddenly become clear favourites to go up.

Are we counting the national league or shall we shrug them off as a Non League club which doesn't matter

Given that it is a League Record, we can ignore FGR.
