Always good to get back into the habit of going to games again. Also this fixture is good as it's a first look at our new signings....

Nice to see Coppell's bedding his new players in for pre-season. And before idiots start banging on about it being early, we already had most of our players signed before pre-season started the season we went up.

The sooner the car-crash season begins, the sooner we can get rid of the most overrated manager in history.

Agreed. We have been banging on about a proper right midfielder for ages, if we truly, honestly, had anyone lined we MUST need, he would have been signed by now. If the club is going to hide behind 'people must go before they are brought in', and spend more effort on the kit annoucement than the squad, we deserve to be in league one, because that will always be Reading's ambition.

This pre-season last year we were playing River Plate of Argentina in a multi-national tournament. Now we're back to playing nth tier non-league oppos with our only "new signing" being a fan who paid for the honour of turning out for RFC.

WTF is going on? Mickey mouse club, run by Mickey mouse men? Mr Ego you have a lot to answer for and shouold be asking some fundamental questions of yourself and staff. Bet your bot is squeaking now you realise you're going to struggle to get your £40M loan repaid. (Of course, the Sky money has probably paid most of this back anyway - least I hope it has, because it certaily wasn't spent on the footballing side of things). Maybe you just feel a darn sight more comfortable being a big fish in a small pool. Fair play if that's the case, but if so, you have a duty to be honest with the fans and ensure that our expectations are realistically managed.

Welcome to the least anticipated season of 40 years of supporting, (or perhaps for the pedants that should read "following"), RFC.

You would rather the RFC of now be more like the RFC of 1968?

Are you as confident in your expectations for this season as you were for 06/07?

LOL at the second line though.

Yes, I am as confident that we will have a poor season this season as I was that we'd finish 8th in 2007.

For anyone that cares, starting line up for today - Hahnemann, Rosenior, Shorey, Sodje, Inigmarsson (capt), Pearce, Karacan, Henry, Robson-Kanu, Lita, Doyle.

Don't know whether Pearce is gonna be tried in centre mid, who knows. Think it's gonna be 11 subs at ht anyway.

As we launch our pre season with a difficult and testing match against the might of Didcot it makes me wonder why we are bothering as it is more than likely that more than a few of the side wont be here at the end of August, so whats the point, our "pre season is going to be the first set of league matches we play !

HT - Didcot 0-3 Reading (Robson-Kanu, Lita, Doyle) expecting a different 11 for the second half.
