nicks1981 Ok all, i'm not here to argue with you guys, after all we're all suffering together! However, how anyone can say Matejovsky was our best player yesterday baffles me... What exactly did he do well then??? Did he score? NO. Did he have ANY shots on goal? NO. Did he set up any good goal opportunities? NO. Did he give the ball away 9 times out of 10? YES!!! As for Cisse, i don't rate him that highly but lookin at our midfield options, he's one of the better ones. How many games does Marek start??? Not many, and rightly so. Hey, just my opinion. Play-offs is all we can hope for now, and hope we don't meet Cardiff!!! The bottom line is that as many people have said, we don't show the same ambition that teams above us do, and it shows in our performances. God knows i hope we do it ( get promoted ) just not too optimistic just yet. Oh, lastly, can anyone explain why we brought in Mooney... I appreciate he may have had injuries, and needed matches under his belt, but now the guy is scoring for a team that we have to play that are fighting relegation who could quite easily oxf*rd our season up live on tv!!! All this tv coverage is showing the country how poor we are right now... Nice one!!! No replies needed from you lot, you don't seem to admit we're crap!!!

Matejovskiy had a shot on goal, what are you talking about? First half, volley, keeper saved.

Fair point, he did have a good shot on target, i sit corrected!!! Still, we lost and that's what matters. What's the point of arguing about 1 or 2 chances when we walked away with sod all and are now 5th in the league??? Things must change and NOW...

Where to start?

I don't know his pass completion stats but he certainly must have completed more than half successfully and he had at least one shot

But apart from that -
Did he create most of Readings best moves ? YES
Was he hungry for the ball and constantly getting into a good position to receive it? YES
Did he close down the opposition when they had they the ball? YES
Did he make a lot (for him anyway) of tackles? YES

As I said before I am not his biggest fan but come on, give credit where it's due

And if getting half cut and hanging around with ladies of the night produces this sort of performance (in my opinion) perhaps the rest of the squad should join him next time he goes out ?!

The point is being CORRECT.

He also made a lot of excellent tackles, and plenty of very good passes.

Problem with this list is they only ever remember errors.

He had the best first half for a long time, we had 60% possession.

Radio (a former manager) said he was running the game. That's because he was.

WELL SAID!

What pisses me off about this list is that so many "random" statements are just "chucked out". Note this guy didnt say "a few of Matty's passes went astray", didn't he say 9/10?

Same with the morons who said Cisse did nothing, yet when you watch and re-watch the Sky coverage he barely put a foot wrong

Any Reading fan who doesn't know who Mick Gooding is should take a long hard look at themselves.

Very good answer I have to say.

Blackpool 2 Reading 0

Manager Steve Coppell was happy with the result "we played with a good pace and effort, we created several chances so all in all we have to be pleased with our effort, two matches in four days is always going to stretch a side in our position and my players are shattered, but overall I am pleased with the creativity we showed in this match and we are still maintaing the position that are expectations were at the start of the season"

Given the team seem to have started their summer holiday at Xmas perhaps the trip to Blackpool will make them feel at home.Bucket scrapping stuff I know but this one has a resounding 3-1 shock Royals win written all over it.No it really does.
Anyway i`ll be there with me bucket and spade, hanky on my head and donkey on my arm.

Another negative away performance where we fail to dominate a poor side, Coppell sticks with the players out of form/sulking because they didn't leave in January, so another pathetic 1v0 defeat.

2 seasons of absolute shit from Coppell, what a legend!

Although I agree with most of what Nicks1871 says I am not going to enter the Marek debate. The fact is that most of the press reports say that the difference betwen the Blades and us was that they wanted it more and I agree entirely. Having seen all of the last 10 home and away games I can say that this has been my impression all along. Our players (and I mean all of them) just do not seem to be too bothered whether we go up or not probably because most of them know that whatever happens they and the manager will not be here. The fact is that now it does not matter one iota whether we win lose or draw at Bloomfield Road as whatever the last 5 results we will be in the play offs and given the other contenderws and our current form it hardly matters whether we finish 3rd 4th 5th or 6th. I will be at Blackpool and hope we win but we probably wont and it just does not matter given this week ends results.

Its all been about confidence and - dare I say it - luck. I think all it will take is one of the early chances to actually go in rather than hit the woodwork and we may get a decent confidence boosting performance.

Heart says 2-0. Head says 0-0.

Im sure if you look into it, the club would have put a clause into the loan agreement to say mooney cant play against us.

nicks1981 Doyle who in my opinion, doesn't deserve to get a game at Reading FC.

That's f*cking funny. Presumably you mean that he doesn't deserve to be wasting his time and talent with this bunch of no-mark pcunts, and their ignorant fans. In which case, I agree.

Why has this thread died so early?

I think we will win this one. Simply, because if we don't, we are shockingly bad.

0-2

Kitson 33
NHunt 86

Bikey to be sent off 78th minute for studs up tackle. 8)

This game could well prove to be the turning point for our season. Blackpool will be knackered and probably under-strength, as well as having post-christmas form which is nearly as bad as ours. 4-1 Reading, Kitson 2, Doyle and Noel.
