I reckon SJM have put up or shut up frankly.

He wanted out, he got out and so dont' criticise the managment now. If he had invested properly in players when he should have done (twice) we may not have had to lose either Brenda or BmD.

His time is over at his behest. Let eveyone now get on with re building the club that he can rightly look back upon proudly to this point. Stop being bitter and moody.

He's not been paid yet, so he is still a 49% shareholder and, as such, can say what he likes really. Whether that helps the club or not, is a different matter!

Not so. AZ can fire him from the position of Chairman the moment he wants to. What's more, if Madejski continues to say what he likes and, in doing so, embarrasses the club and/or AZ then AZ should fire him.

The media wouldn't be anywhere near as interested in the thoughts of a minority shareholder of RFC. What's more, those thoughts could no longer be portrayed as the official view of RFC.

Indeed, and the club did respond to a Leeds fan saying that SJM's opinion regarding Maggie Thatcher and the minutes silence was not the view of Reading Football Club's.

The people at the club absolutely hate these periodic episodes when SJM goes "off-piste" and opens his big mouth. It rarely ends well and usually requires some form of damage-limitation.

I can't see him sticking around in any capacity when the final buy-out goes through later this year. I'm not entirely convinced AZ would want him too either, certainly if there's a clash of personalities behind the scenes.

Agreed - and the fact that he's been quite so outspoken suggest that he knows it's all coming to an end for him.

I like this time and think we should let SJM speak more

He's leaving, doesn't give a toss who he offends (TSI in particular - their non-investment in the team will mean his 49% is worth a lot less than it would have been in May)

He's been screwed over by them, so he is now happy to shine a little light on the goings on behind the scenes

Completely agree, why can't he speak his mind? You may not agree with him, but its better than all the media savy, tight lipped press departments out there. What the hell else would we talk about? Football?!?

Yeah, wow. Saying he wouldn't have sacked McDermott (but he can't be surprised to have been given the elbow) and we should give Thatcher a minute's silence is really shining the light on TSI.

And it's not like Madejski has form in showing loyalty to a manager who isn't performing at this level to the detriment of the club. Coppell tendered his resignation because he thought he wasn't doing well enough and Madejski refused it. We got relegated by 3 goals.

I thin the bit where he says it was all down to AZ is fairly enlightening as to how much say SJM has now...

That and his silence at the time

It's pretty obvious that Anton's active and calling the shots and has been for some time.
