Nameless Any team getting promoted is going to have to add players, in fact not having scope to bolster your squad is a problem in itself.
Vydra is on an option to buy, Hector will be staying if we go up.
Not going up would mean a much bigger rebuild given players will have raised their profile and want to play in the Prem.

Actually agree with you.

genome Interestingly* we only have one more point now than we did after the same amount of games last season, yet it feels completely different now. It started to go tits up at this exact point (after the 3-3 home draw with Wolves).

That'll be because at this stage last season any points we had won had mostly come from back-to-the-walls jobs (e.g. Boro away) where we were completely outplayed but still managed to snatch 3 points.

This season we've consistently outplayed teams and run out deserved winners, and where we've ended up losing/drawing it's often been due to bad luck or the odd mistake. I could be wrong but I don't think there's been a single game this season that we've had less shots on goal than the opposition.

This isn't a false position that we're in - we've genuinely been one of the 3 best teams in the league this season so far. Now the trick will be to keep the performance levels going. If we do then we'll get promoted.

Not really, because what you said is actually true.

Surprisingly.

They can't take Beric off, but maybe if you were creative you could scratch bits off, tippex some bits and make it say something else. No idea what. HTH

Almost. Strangely enough the only game where we have not had more shots than the opposition was Ipswich where it was 10 to 12. Crucially 6 of our 10 were on target. Overall in our 9 games we have outperformed the opposition in shots by 2 to 1 (138 to 67) and in shots on target it is even better (46 to 19). The shots against are the lowest in the league by a staggering amount. The next lowest is 98.

It would probably need to be an XXL to fit it all on. Would getting 'playoff hopefuls 15/16' be less of a hostage to fortune ? At least it's not a Donaldson shirt....

Is this the place to say, that the day the transfer window slammed shut, I had a punt on us winning the championship....I got 33/1

The day Sa scored the hattrick, I backed Blackman to be top scorer at 50/1

So far, that ^^ £10 is giving me a lot of fun and entertainment and hope....

Whoscored.com will certainly have similar stats, even if it's not them.
http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/94/Stati ... nd-Reading

Shots per game
15.2
Shots on target per game
5.2
Shots conceded per game
7.6
We hit the target almost as much as we allow the opposition to shot in total. 8)

Average possession
47%
Pass success
73%
Tackles per game
16.9

60% of our shots are from outside the box, only 4% inside 6 yards. 63% come from down the middle, with 20% from the left and 18% from the right (I'd have thought the other way round).

Against its 43% outside, 6% 6 yard, 65% central, 22% their right side, 13% their left side.

Breaks it down home and away.

You could while away hours there if you were that way inclined.

We may well be "going up" if we manage to replace botching Bond and Al Whoopsie in the January window.

I found a database of all results , for all leagues, and I wrote an Excel macro to extract the data
