beno Agreed on Gooding, the guy used to get 8/10 every game in the evening post with 'another industrious performance' ' covered every blade of the pitch' etc!!

I used to like the way he would give away the ball just so he could make another tackle and win it back again.

beno I always thought Tom Jones was a good right back, he was a good passer and seemed a very intelligent player, did he suffer with injuries coz i dont remember him playing a lot??

Broke his leg twice if I remember rightly.

Definately remember the sound of it cracking reverberating around the Southbank when he did it against Barnet, which I think was his first game back from breaking it the first time.

I'm sure he could play there, because he could do anything, but I don't recall Gooding ever playing at right back.

He played at right back on a few occasions IIRC.

I was tempted to put him there myself in my team, but preferred his versatility coming off the bench.

Oh, and LOL at Scotty on the left wing whilst Gilkes sits on the bench.

That looks a strong team to me but as Baines said I would prefer Gilkes on the left with Scott Taylor to come on as sub for when Little got tired.
I also might have preferred Quinn up front (one of the best thinking and positional strikers we have ever had) ahead of Archie.

I would use Gilkes more as an impact player to come on during the 2nd half (tired midfield/ fullback etc) wasn't always convinced he produced enough end product for all the good positions he got into with his pace.
But yes a tough call between him and scotty
