Niko Refuse to vote as the season hasn't finished yet.

That's ok, this thread will still be around in 2 weeks time so you can vote then.... ;)

Archie's penalty Great question. In the end for me an 8 but could have been so much worse.

Same for me

I think this season has given me one of those games that will go down in RFC history - Liverpool away.

That the season turned around afterwards is a secondary thing and still quite 8)

Tommy Youlden's Ears Probably the lowest league position since 03.

 :|

In 2003 we ended up 4th.
In 2004 we ended up 9th.
In 2005 we ended up 7th.
In 2006 we ended up 1st.....

If we finish 8th, your statement would be incorrect.

Hampshire Royal If the season had happended the other way round, ie brilliant the first half and dire the second half, leaving us fighting relegation, then it would have been 1 or 2. However, the fact that we experienced the low first half being replaced by the fantastic second half, I would give this season 8 or 9. In spite of what people are saying we still have a chance of the play offs and could again go into the last game of the season not knowing what division we'll be playing in next year. The rest of the world seems to have written-off our play off chances so surely we, as Reading fans, need to counter that and believe (at least until Saturday).

1 point for Swansea or 1 win for Blackpool will end it. Winning our final 3 will not be enough. I could rule it out so much that I'll vow to eat my left testicle if we do it; that's the bigger one if you wanted a good measure of my confidence.

That's all true, of course, but if football only ever produced predictable results then it would be boring. Yeah, it may end tonight or it may end on Saturday or it may go to the last game of the season. Until we have no chance, I will cling onto the slightest chance that we will succeed, thank you very much.

In preparation for your possible self-cannabilism do you want salt and pepper, ketchup, mustard or what?

The FA Cup sparked pride back into the club after a dismal start to the season. McDermott has turned our season around.

Our season = 6 or 7/10

McDermott = 10/10

What annoys me , is the FACT that we are easily equal to WBA and have good results against other playoff teams , so i'd regard us as , currently , equal 2nd/3rd best in the league BUT we are only going to finish 8th..... Just needed Heston to be put in charge a couple of weeks earlier... IMHO
i give a woppin' 7

Tis a good question. I'd give it a 9 purely because the second-half of the season has been brilliant and some of our Academy boys have really made an impact.
In the end a really enjoyable season and I will never forget the Liverpool win or my little lads face and the silence of us all when Villa scored those three quick goals.

I would give it an 09/10 given that's the name of the season, it would seem unfair not to.

I will generously award next season a 10/11 in advance. Please can you adjust your ratings for next season appropriately.

There are two games left to play. I'll rate the season when all games have been played.

(OK - 7/10!)

Rogers Reading: 2/10

McDermott Reading: 8.5/10 (Can't say 9 but 8 isn't enough)

Overall: maybe 6/10 but happy as a lark with what Brian has done and, if I'm honest, wouldn't really have wanted promotion this year.

Roll on next season! :D :D :D

Having witness the war of attrition of the first half of the season 1
FAC run - 10
Jan to date - 8

Financially - 0

Still i'd rate this season a success after rooting the chaff out. 7

That's pretty much how I would score it. When Brendan took over I expected us to be bumping along boringly in midtable all season. After game two at Newcastle that clearly wasn't going to be the case so I guess we have him (and Brian of course) to think for making 9th place a heck of a lot more exciting than it should be.

I see two people went for a rating of 1, which is completely bizzare. Unless they're not actually Reading fans.

funny thing is, if we had been mid table all season, everyone would say it was a shit, boring season.

got to hand it to brendan for making the season memorable, and probably for more interetsing than it needed to be!!
