Ups and Downs Also, I'm sorry because I know he tries hard, but there is no other team in the premiership who will have to put on a player like Noel Hunt in the hope that he can change a game.

And the timing of the Pog changes have been strange, just when he's beginning to feel like our one chance for 3. I understand you want to bring a new element, but unfortunately Hunt and Le Fondre together look unpolished. There's a certain creativity, but it doesn't necessary blend well with a united attack that Guthrie and Jobi Mac can add.

TheSiege Reading played well tonight and some of the new boys excelled. Until, of course, Chelsea started to come back. RFC had no-one to come off the bench and change the game. All of our best players were already involved. There may be quibbles about offside or whatever but, top sides deal with that! Our problem was no Rhodes, no Zaha, no Hoilett to bring on. If we want to kick butt - we need serious boots!!!!

There have been some pricks in the history of HNA, but you must be challenging at the top for the biggest. Hoilett had one decent season at Blackburn, Zaha and Rhodes haven't played in the prem so how do you know they would have made a difference? How do you Brian wants them?

Amazed at all the hand-wringing over the fourth goal. 3-2 down with seconds to go at Stamford Bridge. What on earth would be the point of defending your goal difference in the second match of the season. Throw everything at the point and if you drop a goal in the process, so be it. The fourth shouldn't enter into either Fed bashing or "what if" scenarios for the game.

+2. If we go down on GD, it will be primarily because of points not won; not because of goals conceded when chasing an equalizer.

We went down last time because of that shocking game against Fulham; not because we chased equalizers against the likes of Villa and Bolton.

That finish from Pog is sensational. Top drawer. I'm excited for what we could do on Saturday. Come on URZ!

This too. HRK is barely a Championship player. I never expected to beat Chelsea, in fact I thought they'd smash us, but if you run them close and then have to bring on those two then you know it's over.

Cech's goalkeeping was of course exemplary tonight because he ended up on the winning side.

Sorry, but who expected any points tonight prior to kick off?

We lost, it was one of those games that we didnt expect to get anything, yes our hopes were raised, but at the end of the day we got what a majority of us expected prior to kick off. I can live with the fact we competed.

It was an awesome header. Such power! And he ran himself ragged. I hope he can get himself to the point where he fit enough so that awhen he tires hes still a better option than Hunt.

Despite the final result, I really enjoyed watching that. I reckon most of us had this down before the game as a home win, so the final result shouldn't come as a surprise. Yes, unfortunate how a couple of the goals were conceded, but we had a lucky goal ourselves. Good to see Pog and Guthrie get their first goals in the PL for us, McLeary looks an exciting player and very happy to see Jem back after his broken leg. Our survival this season won't be down to getting results at top 6 clubs, let alone the European Champions.

I'm sure he will. The new boys look class. Keep the faith - if we carry on like this minus any howlers we will be more than good enough to stay up.

^^^ Especially with the marking-heavy defense, thought he looked out of shape, Karacan moved far better and he's coming off injury. Not good.
