working class hero What would be really cool would be a few thousand old style wooden rattles being twirled...

My dad has one. Bloody loud!

"Come on all you Royals - lets show our support and push the team into the Premier League with a show of scarves. We belong there so lets do it. Come on - don't be shy as we all know you really want to" (big pause, big pause) Camera pans into the crowd, shuffling of feet and supporters looking at each other suspiciously etc.........

There is too much of a atmosphere of celebration at the moment for my liking............

Its too early for that.

Exactly. Rein it all in and we certainly do not need any mention of the Premier League in a pre match build up.

The wasnt STARS idea.. They were approached by a fan who thought it may be a good idea.. STAR promptly took the Credit for it.

The Scarves thing is so crappy I suspect that it actually may have been STARS idea

I despair. Which planet are some of you on? The club/ some fans / STAR try to do something that is positive (and traditional in football) and all you negative fools can do is cry out how naff you think it is. Get real and grow up.

Agree with that. Scarfs are about as original as you can get. It's far from plastic.

I hate scarfs tho. I'm happy to swing one, hold one up etc, but they're a pain in the arse around your neck or in a pocket.

It's shoes for me too!! 8)

Putting out a plea to fans on the interspazz to bring a scarf and wave it around before an important game is pretty "pLOLastic"

Rumble stix, Music after goals, clappy banners, Bring it on signs and now the scarf thing. What is it with STAR and the people at the club who think this is a good idea?

All the good atmospheres in football are not created with tat like this.

Let the fans support the club with some spontaneity and we may get somewhere. If we cant generate a decent atmosphere in a game against Leeds (who always sell out their away allocation) when we are 2nd in the League chasing promotion with 6 games left do you honestly think that waving scarves is going to help?
