In adkins and crosby we have two of the brightest, most progressive coaches in england, im sure theyll find a solution.

I'm not sure what you can do to coach out the sort of basic errors experienced players like Gunter made today.

I think we need a new conditioning or fitness coach.

Reading have been woeful defensively for the entirety of Adkins reign. It's not as if his assistant is an ex defender or anything.....albeit ex Oxford :!:

The real answer to having a successful side under Adkins in this division is by giving him a Premier League budget, of course.

At this point in time you could make a pretty good case for us needing a new manager who is excellent at bringing younger players through at the right speed and in their correct position. Someone like Eamon Dolan.....

Not that I'm doing that of course.

Yes, and it's been clear for some time. We are all over the place at the back, very disorganised, and we still can't cope with pace. While we're at it, can we have some new medical staff, please?

Still convinced he will be Adkins replacement if they get shot of him - which I hope they don't.

That may be true - but he's had pretty much the same players as McD did. Why not play Kelly?

Im pretty sure the coaches that stop people making silly mistakes are hard to come by.

I'm starting to think the management team should look at this. Not often I take Floyd's view but I would concur that at the back we've been a shambles since Adkins came in.

If anything we're getting worse.

He's injured.

I think we'll improve defensively once we have a proper midfield and a left sided player playing on the left.

We had a left-sided player playing in the middle of the park. And given that we had Akpan and Norwood on the bench, he didn't need to be deployed there.

Adkins, you genius :!:

Reading's defence was woeful under Mr Maccy-D before Adkins reign. It's a problem he's inherited, not created. Perhaps a Premier League budget might be a start to try to deal with the problem......of course....

Not at this level it wasn't, Adkins has always been known as an attacking coach whose teams defending always leaves a lot to be desired.

We need 2. One coach to take our existing defenders away and another to bring in some better ones.

I can remember the defence being pretty shocking at times even during the season Reading went up under Maccy-D. What you say about Adkins history of having more attack-minded teams with questionable defences is true enough though.

McDermott's defence at this level was better because it had Gorkss at the top of his game, sadly long gone, and a central midfield set up to do nothing more than spoil the opposition. Which had to be changed because it was a huge weakness in retaining possession and going forward.
