I still don't see anyone "moaning" about the free travel. I just hope that all those with 1600+ tickets manage to get one on Monday and I feel for everyone else desperate to get what little remains on the Tuesday.

I would have thought the club would have said something about a further allocation when announcing this first tranche, to allay many people's fears. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't actually read, to me, that there is going to be a further allocation.

Have to agree with you RL,

Surely if there was the option for a further allocation it would have been on the OS, as it is with every other game.

The only other option would be to give us more tickets in one of the upper tiers that is due to be closed, thus creating a segregation, stewarding and policing issue.

Not to mention, of course, that only 1,800 tickets are the cheaper ones, the remaining 1,000 are £10 dearer for adults and double the price for children/concessions.

Kitsondinho The thing I'm angry about is not the free travel (which is of no use to me anyway.....unless they are running a Chesterfield bus) but the number of tickets taken. When we do get the 2nd allocation, which we will, then it'll be too late to post up here for me to go. If we had taken the whole allocation, Royalty points could have been used in smaller jumps. This would have be a fairer way to allocate the tickets. What is the point in having the system if you aren't going to use it? They may as well have said season ticket holders and then everyone else! I don't care if people think I'm moaning, I bloody love this club, I do a 300+ mile round trip to home games and go to as many away games as possible. When an important game like this comes along on my bloody doorstep, I'd like to think I at least had a chance to sit in the away end with my 900+ Royalty Points. I fear now I'm going to have to pretend to be a Citeh fan!! Or suffer ESP Bloody N!!

300+ round trip, sounds like me, i have season ticket and live in nottingham, and i have 1591 points

Apparently, the words "initial allocation" have been removed from the official sites now.

I predict all tickets will go on the Monday.

Were they ever on there? I thought it was just Fordham's twitter that said there would be a second allocation.

I have to wait 'til midnight to get mine. Will be very annoyed if they really do all go Monday.

I'm pretty sure, although the free travel is a really nice gesture, that more people would prefer that there had been more tickets available - even those that get a ticket, like me, as it would be far better to have 5k Reading fans there than 2,800. I can't believe that Reading thought we wouldn't sell out the 2,800 without the sweetener of free travel. The free travel will, in effect, only be offered to those with the highest amount of royalty points - which is good in one way I suppose, as they are rewarding those who are the most loyal. But they'd probably have been better off taking a hit on ticket sales, if necessary, rather than stopping a lot of other loyal royals from getting a ticket.

And before anyone starts, this isn't a moan about free travel - it's a cracking idea and many will appreciate it and it may mean that they have decided to go to the game as a result, it's just that I KNOW there will be many loyal royals who don't stand a chance of a ticket now (and this doesn't include me as I have over 1600 points and, assuming, there are less than 2,800 people with 1600 points, then I'll get a ticket) - once again I am trying to stand up for others.

I would, seriously, offer my services free to the club, if it meant they actually took on board fans' views when it came to things like season tickets, pricing, facilities and cup game ticket fiascos. If they bothered to talk to STAR even on things such as this, prior to making decisions and listening to the fans' point of view, there would be no stick to beat RFC with.

I was more than happy to stand in the home end in the 4th round against a team with a 7,000 capacity.

But to have to sit in the home end in the Qtr final against a team with a 46,000 capacity beggars belief!

The Facebook - "RFC - Official page" originally stated initial allocation apparently and they have now changed it. So, it seems, as I thought, that there will be no more tickets forthcoming.

There are enough tickets for everyone with 1600 points to get one on the monday. Which presumeably are the fans that attend most often, seems fair enough, perhaps the idea of having an allocation of 2800 is historical, we just do not take that many to away games, and while this is a special match, it is live on TV and over 200 miles away. Could be they want to make sure they sold the 2800 rather than risk sale or return of another 1500 odd.

Sounds like they have used the banding fine, the top 2800 should get a ticket if they want, then it is a bun fight, still easier than queuing for 4 hours round Elm Park back in the day.

Still on their twitter feed, and in black and white:
@JonnyFordham @urzz1871 2,800 is initial allocation, more can be forthcoming depending on demand.

That I understand but there will be many fans in the same situation as me that stood out at Elm Park for every game for 20 years and the first couple of years at the Madesjki but in recent years have had to move away. I still attend as many home and away games as possible but there is no way that I can accumulate 1600 points.
In summary, it is what it is, but surely there are many more fans that would have benefitted from a greater ticket allocation. The free travel is great and that could have been used to reward anyone with a large points total, just a shame that everyone else who would be quite prepared to fork out 50 quid or so in travel costs won't even be able To get a ticket.

Not many at all, I now live in Leicester and have 2 young children, so most of my attendances are juggled around a couple of hours before a game hence I usually pay on the day.

You lot are oxf*rd unbelievable.the club cant win. They have a very short time to organise and sell the allocation.so staggering the points more is impossible.the give free transport for nearly 3000 people.at the cost of a new player. And all you can do is moan. Even if you dont get one on monday half wont take the transport offer. So im sure you can get 1 on tuesday. If we sell out quickly well get more. And if you live miles away thats just tough really. To get your approval the club would basically have to have bought more tickets than we have sold for an fa cup game in forever, and payed for everyone to get a personal limo. At the end of the day if its so important to you all of a sudden you can always drive up or get a train, and sit in the away end. You poor things. Id sue the club if i were you.

Thanks Brendy,

If the club could just confirm what you have said ' if we sell out quickly, we'll get more ' that would be fantastic.

How many did we take to Man Utd in the cup a few seasons ago? :|

And, it seems quite clear that 2,800 is the FULL allocation if it is to be believed that City are already selling the seats that we would have taken in a further allocation. Taking 5000 tickets at, say, £25, not allowing for the varying prices in seats between adult and concessions even, would have cost the club £125,000 - we more or less KNOW that we're going to sell 2,800 straight away - the remaining 2,200 would cost the club £55,000, which, when you consider the amount we are making out of this tie and tv rights alone, is hardly going to break the bank even if we didn't sell one additional ticket. But, we will sell them! That is the point.

Well as much as you hope to be there, like me you may not have enough points, however imagine a win, and trip to Wembley, that would be even more enjoyable. Perhaps you could try a Man C ticket wanted thread, someone may get one for you that is not going to attend, has worked in the past.
