Yeah, Parker and Barry don't work, doing the same job, neither looking to gamble or find space going forward. Parker is playing much better. What we need is someone like Wilshire in there too who'll look to play the more attacking ball, but still decent on the deck stuff.

At the moment we're stuck in our half when we play nice passing football because there is noone finding space in the middle of the park so no way to gain ground. Consequently a defender gets impatient, punts it forward and we lose it. Not sure about the wingers either right now.

Parker not lost possession once yet TMD.. that's strange isn't it. Also made three crucial blocks and a couple of good tackles.

Why's Barry playing? Tried and failed, even Jones alongside Parker would be a better option

Oh, and Stevie G's done nothing, but that's no surprise...

I don't think I'd have either Gerrard or Barry in this team if everyone was fit. Rooney in for Gerrard and Wilshere in for Barry.

Young dives in the box but gets up quickly when he realises nobody was near him and the commentators praise him for 'not milking it'.

Parker keeps passing it 5 yards to a centre back

What's worrying is despite having two holding midfielders Snijders got on the ball unmarked just outside the box 4-5 times already.

And don't be fooled by a last ditch dive. They are an act of a desperate man who has been tactially embarrassed and it totally suicide. You leave yourself out of the game.

He' tried some extravagent long passes that haven't come off. Time to retire from international football along with Ferdinand, Terry, Lampard & Barry.

Gerrard's trademark 'England friendly injury' has come a couple of days later than normal.

Seal Remind me of Gerrard's performance as England captain? The World Cup. Ah yes, such a great leader that John Terry was happy to totally undermine him at a press conference. And as for on the pitch...

No problems with Parker, current player of the season, playing in a confident side, and gives all for the cause. Also more likely to actually make the Euros if you consider Gerrard's horrendous injury record for England.

I thank you.

What is it England have against passig to LBs in good positions who aren't Ashley Cole? Baines ignored twice then when he was the best ball on.

EDIT: Barry is playing like dogturd. Get him off and Milner or Cleverly on.

Spot on about the last ditch dive.
We used to call it the Sean Teale, after the old Everton defender.
His positional sense was so poor that he ended up having to do a sliding tackle or a block to make up for his poor positional sense-the crowd loved it because they saw a despairing tackle but he should never have had to do it in the first place.

A typical friendly with a few hit and hope crosses by us but no shot yet on target.
I hope Gerrard doesn't miss Saturday's game v Arsenal because of this poxy friendly.
BTW does Townsend have to say that things are "unlucky" so often?

97% - Scott Parker completed 97% of his passes in the first half, a higher rate than any of his England team-mates. Example.

Why are there no "L"s in The MaROFLuding Dog?

Parker's blocks:
One last ditch because Barry ran into the penalty area unnecessarily leaving space on the edge of the box which Parker then had to run out to and close down from where he'd been correctly positioned.
Two where he was in position on the edge of the box denying a gap for the Dutch player to shoot through, these were not last ditch diving blocks.

Good effort to criticise probably the best and most consistent performer across the first 45 mins, but ultimately a fail.

Think he felt a slight twinge in his left bicep caused by the lack of an armband and didn't want to play.
