Stuboo Wow, I thought everyone loved Harry. Interesting.

Oh yeah we all love good old Arry. Arry the wheeler dealer who leans out of his window to speak to his media chums who he knows on a first name basis. Good old Arry the "loveable" cockernee wideboy. QPR must be favourites for the league, let's put them first on all the highlights programme, because we all love Arry fcuking Redknapp.

And breath.

sandman Really? I'd have thought it would be pretty obvious why they've done it.

Is it? There is enough ex liverpool pundits knocking about already if that is what you mean. In 2013 getting a Man City or Chelsea player is more likely to be relevant.

I presume it's because Gary Neville is involved in the England setup and there's a World Cup after this season which might take up some of his time?

It's because they are so similar but so different. SKY obviously want them both to play off each other given their commitment to the clubs they played for and the rivalry of those two clubs. There are plenty of ex Lollerpool pundits around but they don't have the potential this pairing have.

Neville surprised most people why can't Carragher?

But the big rivalry these days is Utd and City. Liverpool are not even in the title picture! It may still mean more to the local, and not so local, fans but to the casual viewer only interested in the now which is sky's audience i don't think so ??

What does that have to do with their potential chemistry as pundits?

Anyone watch BT Sport this weekend, the Emirates Cup?

They had Steve McManaman on as co-commentator and i actually enjoyed listening to him and his knowledge - especially on the way certain players/teams play

They also had Mark Halsey to "clear up" any refereeing decisions etc - was a tad forced but a nice touch, especially when something happens this season and you can have a [ex]pro-ref there to explain why the ref did/didn't give something

Been dropping in and out of it, on the whole it's good coverage and the commentator they nicked from the BBC (Steve Wilson possibly?) is excellent. David James, however...

The commentators are Ian Darke and Darren Fletcher

Fletcher being the BBC man

They may have great chemistry but the reason he has been picked is because he is a ex LIVERPOOL player not an ex player. It's daft.

And i honestly struggle to understand the thick scouse accent he has!

Mark McGhee doing an utterly shite job co-commentating for BBC Scotland on the Celtic v Elfsborg match.

Ex-Reading assistant manager Packie ( yeah, yeah racist) Bonner doing quite a good job on analysis.

Royal Rother I bloody love Clarke Carlisle. Hearing him talk about the game, problems and all, is a total pleasure.

He's not just good with numbers (as illustrated on Countdown) he is a very impressive individual and incredibly articulate. He will achieve big things now he has retired. Football must make the best possible use of his immense skills and intelligence.

Best commentry I've heard on radio came from Clarke Carlisle. Very intelligent, insightful and articulate.

He's no Neville I'll give you that

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest- ... rts-again-

Carragher was asked if Juventus star Giorgio Chiellini - sent off for 'elbowing' Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo - had been harshly treated.

But instead of giving a straightforward reply about the Champions League controversy, the loveable Scouser compared the decision to an imaginary evening out with wife Nicola Hart.

Carragher told baffled host Jeff Stelling: "Ronaldo got him sent off. That's the modern game isn't it? I've just come out of the modern game.

"It's not something that we like to see. I wouldn't say it's accepted now but it, it it it's just become part of the modern game.

"When I see someone go down like that and not just Ronaldo, but other players, there's nothing wrong with him, we know that, I always liken it to, imagine taking the wife out on a Saturday night and a fellow walks past you and gives you a little clip in the face, imagine rolling round on the floor I think the wife would smack you with her bag as you were down on the floor…'Get up!'"

Fellow pundits Graeme Souness and Peter Schmeichel were visibly confused and immediately changed the subject.

If they were baffled or confused I can only imagine the other pujdits are a bit simple, his point was quite clear

His point was clear but still stupid. Plus sometimes his accent does gr8.

He's not my favourite pundit, and he does look a bit of a bell with those massive pens (but then so does GN)
