Ludicrous. I should hope he finds a better job higher up the leagues.

They say the club needs a change of direction...

That'd be downwards I guess?

Will he still be free at Christmas? It's the traditional time to reach a few 'management decisions' at RFC

And now McClaren sacked. Bet he wished he took the Geordie job now although may still get it.

Sheffield United have more money than anyone in that league and finished 20 points off autos. I can see both sides of the argument with this one!

Big Sam apparently a favourite to take over - or was that Sheff U, some side beginning with S anyway.

Rodgers has a meeting with Fenway Sports Group next Month; my money is on Liverpool installing a new Manager before the start of the Season.

The similarities between the Boston Red Sox pitching coach, and Rodgers at Liverpool are striking......

Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and manager John Farrell announced Thursday that the club has fired pitching coach Juan Nieves.

Nieves was in his third season with the Red Sox after being hired Nov. 7, 2012. During the 2013 season, Nieves helped lead Boston’s rotation to a 3.79 ERA — the lowest since the 2002 team posted a 3.75 ERA — and they went on to win the World Series. The Red Sox’s 1,294 strikeouts that season also were a single-season franchise record.

Since Boston traded away four-fifths of its 2014 Opening Day rotation, however, the new group has struggled mightily.

So both at their respective teams since 2012; both had a great previous season and through trades/transfers of key players, both slumped in the next season.............

For the record, Rodgers is 4/11 to be in charge for Liverpool's first game of next season, and 15/8 not to be with Paddy Power.

Just punted a cheeky tenner on the latter.

Rodgers I think I expect to leave in the summer, Klopp likely to be favourite at this stage.

One thing I don't understand at Liverpool though is that they apparently have an "acquisition team" that oversee the players coming and going so not sure how much input Brendan has to that. Also strikes me as a stupid way to operate a club and if BR doesn't have too much input it would be stupid/harsh to sack him esp. after not having Sturridge neatly all season.

If that is true I will imagine they will find it difficult to get any half decent manager to take over.

Chance to be the Manager to bring back success, or get a massive payout with little long term damage to career... why would anyone not take the job if it was going?
