Only Camberley are in action from the top 5 - they go to Cobham FC to take on MVSCR.

That should be a feast of football.

Was down at A N S (Foxcotte) today, but for their neighbours and the Yoof rugby.....really stodgy and poor drainage....the footballing bit looks like quite a nice set-up (£5 entry fee, from what I saw) should you be heading that way Mr FOC sir.

Nice to see oxf*rd City with another bizarre score line..this time, in their favour.....crazy season for them

...actually ANS v Tadley is pretty high on my list - the weather is a bit of a concern this week though - especially after today - haven't been to Foxcotte for a good 3 or 4 years - very nice ground. (once you've found it  ).
My first trip that way about 6 years ago, got terribly lost around the Charlton Sports area - turned off the A34 too late I think and tried to approach New Street from the A303 Ring Road. Headed towards several sets of high intensity sports lights around N Andover to no avail - I knew it was somewhere nr the Crematorium but my N.Hants A-Z didn't really help and it was soon well after 20:00h.
Drove disconsolately back home up the A343 and spotted what I was certain must be their lights in the far distance, back up the hill from Enham Alamein. Gave it a go - arriving just before H/T.
Great place for NL football as they nearly always guarantee goals - I've noticed over the years of following local results that they'll often lose very high scoring encounters - cue a 0-0 on Tuesday then - they do look a little more water-tight than usual THIS season but on average concede between 3 & 4 at home.

As per OCFC this season - they are at home this Wednesday night to the victorious Trophy Semi-Finalists, North Ferriby - will see if I have sufficient funding/energy/time to get out to that one.

Sounds like you might've initially found (now defunct) Andover FC at Portway Ind. With the benefit of sat nav nowadays, it's the Walworth Ind. exit from the 303 that you want, take it from there.
Good luck and enjoy!

... no, wasn't there - I've been around that area several times before and been to Portway in the old Andover Town days - even been back since - there's a 'new' team playing back there now in the Wessex Premier - same club name but grew out of a Sparsholt (?) College side I think.
There's also a Hants Premier League side (Andover Lions) playing at the Athletics Stadium next door - wasn't either of these that we were lured towards on that fateful evening all those years ago.

I think we could see the lights for ANS in the far distance from the Saxon Way/Goch Way/Foxcotte Rd area but couldn't get any nearer to them - ended up near an all-weather sports pitch - was probably another Sports Centre or School with outside Tennis/Basketball or summat.
- I've looked up Walworth Ind. now and that doesn't seem to be anywhere near the turnings for Foxcotte either - indeed a lot of the maps show roads that are dead ends much as per my A-Z. Since I don't have SatNav - I'll try and stick to the way in I know from Enham Alamein - SW off the A343 - signed 'Penton Mewsey' I think (if I remember it right!).

... and after all that directional guff, the match at Andover New Street was postponed :| - so on Tue ended up at Hellenic Div One East : Chinnor vs Wok & Emm on a very cold night down the other side of the Chilterns. Home side play on a much upgraded pitch now, nearer the main road but the clubhouse is still old and rickety albeit nice and warm. Reportedly about to knock it down and rebuild for opening next year - so I would NOT recommend visiting Chinnor of a midweek before then.

Sumas 0-2 down in the 1st half, won it 3-2 in the 8' of injury time.

Elswehere on the same night:

Basingstoke edged Bath 3-2 in the CONF South.

In the Southern League One S&W Wantage and Fleet were both beaten at home by Tiverton & Yate respectively.

In the CCLP Camberley won 4-1 at MVSCR to grab top spot from Cove; Hartley W got a good win 1-0 at Spelthorne and Westfield shared the spoils with CWU.

... and in the few other games played around the Hellenic - Newbury bt Highworth 1- 0 in the Challenge Cup - the visitors resting the majority of their first team for their Vase Q-F replay this Sat.
Henley progressed in the Supplementary Cup with a 4-3 win over Div 2 Stokenchurch.

On Wed Oxford City drew 1-1 with N.Ferriby and Whitchurch succumbed 0-3 at Longmeadow vs Lymington.

Last night (Fri) Binfield picked up another big home win in the Hellenic Prem - 4-2 over Holyport. Moles now up to 4th but still a fair distance adrift from the leaders and fast running out of games.

... will try and get somewhere pretty close by: - youngest has 'rested' himself from his teams' friendly this AM - think there's something on TV around lunchtime he wants to watch  - admittedly he performed brilliantly last week - and that's not just a proud dad speaking. 8)
His side near the foot of the table, clicked into a gear I'm not sure they knew they had - and comfortably beat a team in 2nd place who still had a chance of the title. May have been co-incidence but they'd had one of their last training sessions with a Dutch fellah from RFC Academy - who their club have ties with - who I think had come along to coach them.
Their opponents were all bigger and on the face of it stronger but were upset by some great movement and more than anything determination NOT to be bullied out of it. I believe this other team are used to success with that sort of approach.
Got quite 'tasty' - as our lot certainly gave as good as they got - their opponents started to try and get rougher but were visibly tiring too. Got especially more niggly, when we brought on a young lad up front 2nd half. He's probably far too good for my lad's team but is quick, quite skilful and very 'committed' to winning (a bit of an U12 Suarez.) He also knew he was winding up the defence - who started whining and moaning at each other, their manager and the Ref - their parents were also giving our lot some real 'stick' from the side-lines too - probably made worse by the fact that this 'little charmer' we'd brought on, grinned every time he left a foot in or bundled over a much bigger boy as he challenged for the ball.
Has to be said young 'FOCcers minor' was also a stalwart on the left-side of defence- never missed a tackle and came back on 2nd half following an injury (nasty & deliberately inflicted  ) to shore up that side.

Cheers RR - - lad plucked out your lots' game from our list today, so we watched the FA Cup Q-F up to about the hour mark - then made a bit of a dash up the top of the M3 and just beyond to Rectory Meadows for:

CCLP Hanworth Villa 1-6 Windsor - away side managed to score all seven but tbf the og was a bit harsh as the defender (was it Kirby?) attempted to clear from under his own bar with a forward virtually on top of him.
Windsor evidently not suffering from whatever ailed them last w/e at Frimley (who incidentally won again today at MVSCR)
Their pace and movement down both flanks completely unravelled a very limited Villa and their finishing was top class - well classier than you'd expect at STEP05 - could have had double figures as their young subs (at least I think Travis came on - didn't notice him start) ran riot but found increasingly baffling ways to miss when scoring was easier - bit churlish to criticise maybe as they were 5 up by then.
I believe some other young lad up front was making a first appearance too and definitely impressed some older Windsor fans sat behind us in the stands - scored at least one 2nd half.

Other CCLP results mostly went Windsor's way this PM: Camberley lost 1-2 at RPV, allowing Cove to retake top-spot with a draw at E&E. Ashford Town won at bottom club Guildford 3-2 but Molesey surprisingly went down 0-1 at home to improving Baddy Lea.
Two possible upsets in Div One this PM with Sheerwater picking themselves up from a terrible run and winning their 2nd away game 1-0 in succession; this time at 2nd placed AFC Croydon - after picking up just 1 point from 33 since early November. Alton Town similarly struggling, got all three points at Lammas

Fuller review tomorrow but have to make a special mention to HIghworth - who did somehow upset the FA Vase odds and come back from Tadcaster with a 1-0 win - Worthians keeper saved a pen on the stroke of half-time too.
If the dates and fates fall right could well be on for a double (or triple) Wembley visit ? 8)

I didn't go yesterday - son in Swimming County Champs and Reading on TV.... Wish I'd chosen the Windsor game in preference to the latter.

I suspect the youngster you referred to was Kane Jones. Still 19 I believe, he's always been decent but plays the game (and life) on the edge and has had a few red cards already. Seemed to have grown up a bit and started off this season superbly notching goals aplenty then had a stroke (not the 1st one) and missed the last 5 months. He has a medical condition which means he should look after himself but he likes a drink, a fry up and a smoke the combination of which in his the circumstances probably doesn't do him a lot of good.

This was his 1st start back so great to see him back fit and well and scoring.

This was his 1st start back so great to see him back fit and well and scoring.

.. not sure it was - I did recognise him from the Squad info - he was very instrumental in the four goal half-time lead - the home defence never picked up his runs and he was winding up the home fans a treat too. Not a great idea in this part of Lahnden - there were a few tasty geezers ambling around! :? I think he may actually have gone off at H/T - took a heavy knock shortly before the break - was down a while.
Haven't seen a team sheet and there weren't any audible tannoy announcements re replacements but the other 'support' striker' may have been the 'new' lad they were on about behind us. Scored the 5th (or perhaps 6th) with a low drive from the edge of the box when the ball wasn't cleared properly?
Update none the wiser: league Bulletin's just arrived by e-mail and the named scorers of the 5th & 6th wasn't the other 'young lad' up front. Kane did get the third and they've credited the Villa goal to one of the forwards, presumably the one who initially shot goalwards - the chap following up didn't get anything on the ball but it would have been harsh to 'award' as an og it to Kirby. Attendance looked well above 87 too.

Spelthorne Sports 2-1 Windsor

Spelthorne Sports are another team I wouldn't want to watch every week offering little more than big humps forward but then that's a pretty good way to beat Windsor at the moment.

Their 2 goals came from a silly penalty and a corner our keeper waved at when seemingly under little pressure.

Excellent at the back they charged down numerous shots and looked well organised and with a decent keeper (their 5th of the season apparently) who made one fantastic save and otherwise generally solid.

Too much petulance from Windsor for my liking with a poor example set by our captain who gets mouthier by the week. Our best player was Yaw Opoku-Berchie fresh out of the U18s who is lightning fast and plays some intelligence. Final ball wasn't great but most of our good work came from him on the left wing.

Saving ourselves for the cups!!

Maidenhead continue their free fall with another home loss.

... and elsewhere in the CCL - top two both lost: Camberley surprisingly 0-2 at Westfield and Cove less so 2-3 at Molesey.

Shock result was bottom club Guildford racking up a 5-0 win at Hartley Wintney. Farnham lost 0-1 at MVSCR

In the Hellenic Premier Flackwell Heath bulldoze ever onwards in pursuit of Highmoor/IBIS with a 2-0 win at Thatcham 'Heathens' in touching distance now - 1 point behind with 5 matches in hand.
Ascot won 1-0 at Milton and Vase semi-Finalists Highworth eased past RTFC 3-1

The Floodlit Cup semi-Final saw North Leigh Reserves triumph 1-0 at Newbury - the other S-F between Div One E Rayners Lane & Binfield is next week. 'Moles' progressed in the Reading Senior Cup on Monday night; 5-0 over Rotherfield Utd from the Thames Valley league.

Not a great deal of Southern League action this midweek - Marlow bt Godalming 2-0 in Div One Central - Egham went down 0-5 at Kettering in the same section - In One S&W Diddy picked up three points with a very late winner at Shortwood.

Burnham play at Cambridge City on Wed night

In the Conference Premier 'Sh!ts' held Halifax 1-1 at the Rec

I really thought it was different this season too. In the first half of the season I genuinely thought they could finish top half, and it's only been in the last few days that I've even considered relegation. Should have known they would go on their usual bad run during Jan-March. I think most of their remaining games are against top half sides. Hopefully they can pull out some results in April like they usually do.

I still that if their game at Havant last season hadn't been postponed late in the season and rearranged for the final week they probably would have gone down. Drax's comments when the game was originally set to be played were playing the underdog tag, nothing to lose, anything there would be a bonus etc, but by the time the game was played Maidenhead needed something (4 points from the last 2 games - which they got with a win at Havant, and a draw at Stortford(?) on the final day). It also had a knock-on effect on Dover who i'm convinced would have missed out on the playoffs were it not for the game being rearranged. It's funny how things can work out, Dover have done remarkably well ever since then.

What FoC said in his weekend review isn't quite true though. It's only the bottom 2 going down this season from ConfS, not three, so still 6 points clear. They're looking over their shoulders now though having played an extra game.

...'fairy nuff' - gap is actually 6 points back to Farnborough, who have a game in hand. Completely forgot about Salisbury dropping straight through and eventually out altogether - this season we have an odd number of teams in CONF South hence presumably why only two down.
Possibly dangerous to assume this is the intent though; as every year the six clubs stepping up from Ryman/Southern and Northern Premier present the Conference with a geographical conundrum. Does seem as if the annual demotions/resignations and expulsions maintain the equilibrium more by luck than judgement.

Also In 13-14 Season with a 'full complement' of 22 clubs only two went down from the CONF Southern Section (Tonbridge & Dorchester) - yet three were relegated from the North - and three came up from Southern & Ryman (Hemel, StAlebuns and Wealdstone - Lowestoft went Ryman to Conf North)

so ....at season's end 2013-214 the promotion/relegation arrangement appeared to work out as : 22-2+3-1(Salisbury) =22

--- I've missed someone somewhere!

...will have to have a look later - Dad's Taxis beckons

Windsor 3-4 Ashford

Not as good a game as the scoreline suggests.

Despite not being particularly impressive Ashford actually could / should have had a few more, contriving to hit one way over the bar from inside the 6 yard area with no-one anywhere near him. Quite amusing at the time.

Ashford sussed pretty quickly that if they launched it down the middle for someone to chase onto they'd create havoc and panic.

Pretty pathetic defending throughout the game to be honest.

Still, we'll turn it on in the Cups I'm sure.

The ref was a bit lenient - looked like an Ashford player decked our full back off the ball right in front of the lino... He flagged but after a conversation between the officials not even a yellow was given. Guess it must have been accidental, but then why give a free kick? To be fair, unusually Windsor didn't really protest too much.

Our local hothead Kane Jones got involved in a tussle in the 2nd half (nothing too nasty) he got up first then booted the ball straight at the Ashford player who was still on the deck about a yard away.

Surely that's a definite red card?! No, just a yellow. And immediately subbed. Silly / lucky boy.

Cast your minds back to October....
Banbury Utd 1-2 Slough Town Abandoned HT
Next time your team is losing at half time, chuck a bottle at the ref, get the game abandoned and you could win the chance of replaying the game  Although it may take 15 weeks to get a decision

...a few 'local' sides in action last night (Tuesday 17th)

CONFS
Basingstoke 2-1 v W-s-M - Dragons now 2 points behind 2nd place Boreham Wood with a game in hand
Bath 0-1 Bps Stortford
Bromley 5-0 Farnborough
H&Y 0-0 Staines - points gained for Hayes and Bps Stortford drops Magpies into the bottom three with a 6 points gap still back to Farnborough.
(Mon 16th) Wealdstone 3-0 Gosport B

SOUTHERN One Central
AFC Hayes 3-1 Godalming
Barton 0-0 Marlow
N.Greenford 1-3 Egham
SOUTHERN One S&W
Bps Cleeve 0-1 Stratford - good result here for Freds (Wantage) as is the next one
Shortwood 5-2 Fleet Town
Yate 2-3 North Leigh

CCL Premier
Badshot Lea 2-0 Horley
Bedfont Sports 0-4 Hanworth Villa
Knaphill 1-2 Frimley Gn - FG now on a complete reversal of form - after 16 straight defeats; they've now won 4 in a row, including three away
Molesey 1-0 Ashford T - big win for Moles who move within three points of 2nd placed Cove with 4 games in hand - Camberley the leaders are only two points further away.
Westfield 1-1 RPV
Premier Cup 4th Round (Quarter Final)
Farnham 3-2 Cove aet - Farnham now drawn to play either CWU or Badshot Lea in the S-F ; Windsor's Q-F tie is scheduled for this Saturday 21st @ Div One Worcester Park - Skinners Field has a nice roomy clubhouse from recall but not much else - sited deep in outer London Nimbyland between Sutton & Surbiton so the hosts have no chance of playing under lights at their current site. Camberley await the winners of that tie in the Semis.
CCL One
Chess 'n Hook 4-0 Sandhurst
Eversley & California 2-2 Alton Town

- got to this one; wanted an earlier KO - scheduled start for 19:30 but kicked off 15' later  - no-one seemed to know why - appeared to have been pre-arranged by the league?
- first game I've watched under lights at E&C very nice set-up but a bit sparse still - plenty of scope for uplift if they can continue to gather the funds.
As well as a Tea Bar doing hot food and drinks, now got a functioning clubhouse (possibly still shared with Cricket Club) and bar when they have the staff to open it - did seem to be opened on request at H/T but I was cold and stayed on the Bovril - very chilly aspect here as it's surrounded by reservoirs/gravel pits etc

Hellenic Premier
Bracknell 0-1 Ardley - very late goal for the visitors
Highworth 1-5 Wootton Bassett - home side almost certainly appear got their focus on the Vase Semi-Final this Saturday
Div One East
Henley 6-2 Penn & Tylers
Floodlit Cup S-F
Rayners Lane 0-5 Binfield - Moles face North Leigh Reserves in the Final tba
Supplementary (Losers) Cup
RTFC 3-4 Headington Amateurs aet - played at Faraday Rd,Newbury as there are ongoing floodlight issues at Scours Lane.
Diddy Reserves 1-2 Freds Reserves - Quarter Finals taking shape now in the Cup few teams seem to want to make much of an effort in - probably why the last eight places are dominated by Division One sides - though of course they do probabaly make up the majority of 'qualifiers' by being 1st round losers in the Challenge Cup. Only Brimscomb, Ab Utd or Kiddy and already relegated Shrivenham survive from the top flight.

Wessex - locally only Tadley Calleva were in action in the Q-F of the Basingstoke Senior Cup losing 0-2 at home to Hungerford

...and finally a couple of remarkable scorelines - first : from tonight (Wed) in the Ryman Isthmian One South -
Burgess Hill 0-1 Whyteleafe - BHT lose their first league match of the season and as far as I know only their third match in all competitions (other two I know about in FA Cup & FA Trophy - both to Dartford from the Conference Premier - haven't checked League/County Cups)
In the same section last night South Park 1-7 {SEVEN} Guernsey- reportedly was 0-3 on 86'
