If only Sturridge was as good as he thinks he is.

Described by my scouse mate as either a brilliant manager, or the bloke who sold the monorail to Springfield

Hmmm. Picks a number of young and inexperienced players in a tricky FA Cup tie away to lower league oposition then publicly criticises them for not being good enough when they lose?

Just wondering if one of the names in the three envelopes was "Brendan Rogers".

I can't understand why people dislike him, this is probably my favourite manager quote from when he was at Swansea.

It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful.

Score was Sunderland 2-0 Swansea

How brilliant that you pop up with that now, not after his 3 goals in his first 3 games for Liverpool, when his performances were praised. Thought you were better than that.

Players who should nevertheless have been easily good enough to win the game. You don't do them any favours pretending they did just fine, and Rodgers would have got equal criticism had he praised their efforts, I'm sure.

I agree, but it's the fact he did it publicly and the manner in which he phrased it that is massively ill judged IMO.

Justice served for the bullshit BR came out with after the Mansfield cup tie. Question Brendan, who selected the team? What a cock!

On Man City's shortlist to replace Mancini, apparently.

Nothing yet - although, to be fair, they look like bettering last season's position in the league (the worst since 1993).
