Who is going to win the Premier League?

by Winston Biscuit » 04 Apr 2023 08:50

Arsenal fixtures:
Liverpool (a)
West Ham (a)
Southampton (h)
Man City (a)
Chelsea (h)
Newcastle (a)
Brighton (h)
Forest (a)
Wolves (h)

Man City fixtures:
Southampton (a)
Leicester (h)
Brighton (a)
Arsenal (h)
Fulham (a)
West Ham (h)
Leeds (h)
Everton (a)
Chelsea (h)
Brentford (a)

Can't help but think Man City are going to win. easier run in, Arsenal to play at home, had a game in hand over Arsenal for some time now which makes the lead at the top better than it is.

City have got FA cup & Champions League games to play too. But of any club that could manage those pretty well squad wise its City.

If Arsenal win at Liverpool I can't see them slipping up for the remainder.

Very very tight.

Ooo, that game at City.... (red card or 2 incoming - Gabriel has been pretty reliable of late but I can see him losing his cool.)

However, on balance, 8 point lead and City's European and FA Cup commitments just swings it for Arsenal in my estimation.

We are ruling Ian Royal out of the title race?

Just looked up when City play their game in hand and they actually have another one postponed before then for the FA Cup semi so when they play Arsenal they will be 2 games behind

means that the teams could head into that game against each other with Arsenal 11 points clear and 6 games left to go, but with City still having a not unrealistic chance of winning the league still

Don’t give a toss, hate City for their continual buying of everything, trying to make out what a big club they are and apparent whingeing when they get caught out for something “iffy”. Never liked Arsenal as it seems every other person in East Berks area supports them rather than any local sides (though at least nowadays a few of them do actually go and watch them rather than in the 70s and 80s when they just used to watch MotD).

Obviously don’t want Abu Dhabi to buy another league but Arsenal slowly choking is quite entertaining

I said city as well. When their relying on the mental stability of Xhaka and have to play shit like Rob Holding, they are gonna concede.
It's all about squad depth now. And city have it in bulk.....Arsenal don't. Partey looks off it as well.

Yep, prolly prefer City, but only very marginally, their players have absolutely no appeal whatsoever.

But if Arsenal do choke this year, it’ll be lovely. So overhyped man for man.

Well twatter is fun at the moment and bottling seems to be the new in word, understandably Spurs fans are revelling in it with a few claiming Arsenal have thrown away a 22 point lead, fuck knows where they plucked that figure from.
But what`s more mysterious to me is Man U fans rejoicing too like they want to see city win it, what a strange bunch that lot are.

I would guess they are feeling anything but comfortable today.

Good for the game that Arsenal have pushed City this season and if they get anything from their fixture away at City they would still be in with a chance despite having still to also have to play Brighton and Newcastle.

Man City will win the league, Arsenal are creaking, that will be some game between them.

I really, really want Arsenal to hang on for the win, they've been so good at times this season, and it's nice for it not just to be City all the time.

paultheroyal Man City will win the league, Arsenal are creaking, that will be some game between them.

City are been doing what Liverpool in the 70's & 80's and United in the 90's & 00's were doing ... coming to the boil at the sharp end of the season
Doesn't necessarily mean they'll win it (although I think they will) but gives them a really good chance

Sadly, the pressure of the home straight seems to be having a detrimental effect on Arsenal simply because they're not used to it

Yep. Whereas you'd think that things would be exactly the other way round, with Arsenal having no involvement in Europe and City having the Champions League as their main target for the season. Strange...
