Avoiding paying tax more like.

Wouldn't he have to be away longer than three months? I seem to recall his absense back in 99(?) when we were teetering with relegation to the then third division. An East Stand revolt at the final whistle demanding the Chairman came out and answered their questions followed, but they were ushered away because John Madejski was in Kuala Lumpar?

I believe he was out working on selling an auto trader franchise type thing out there. Think he was gone for most of a year, which may possibly have envolved tax purposes.

Because your average Reading fan probably isn't the target market ?

I guess we hear about things when they are new and attracting JM's attention, once theya re up and running I suspect he hands over much of the day to day running to others. Like with RFC.

Isn't that a bit like saying the Madejski is in England rather than Reading !!

He's need to be out of the country for significantly more time than that to avoid much tax.

Do you always believe everything you're told by the football club? I assure you there was genuine interest, but it's been kept very low key since the media got wind of it. Some very reliable posters have thrown their weight behing things they've heard/been told. It's very possible the interest in our club is nolonger there, but I can tell you now that it most certainly was. Lest we forget this is a football club that usually plays everything down (Brendan Rodgers excluded).

What are you saying? That we should expect him to say this rumour is nonsense or that this rumour is nonsense?

That he was never going to admit to the media that he is involved in discussions to sell.

Interesting that in the interview that has caused todays team board melt down he talks about not being as rich as he was.

Some of us have been saying that for a while.

Can't decide if that makes him more desperate to sell or not.

I would imagina that at the moment he'd bite the hand off a cash buyer - his current probelm isn't wealth, it's liquidity.

Hope so.

Maybe we could get a Chairman who knows how to run a club.

Like Paul Duffin....
