The 'maybe third' player is likely to be Rogic.

Some likely candidates already mentioned as t'other 2. We'll just have to wait and see what unfolds, but agree they need to be bought in urgently to give su the best chance possible. We simply must starting winning now and we will not do it with what we currently have.

I thought Mcd was wanting to snap up some players already in the PL with experience? Don't get me wrong the signing of the Sporting Lisbon captain is something of a major coup for us. Feel that we need to add players who know what is needed on the pitch every weekend who can immediately make an impact. We need players who can play in the PL now and not a month down the line once they have started to settle into life in the PL.

Huddlestone would fit this category and probably Arshavin just about if we can improve his work ethic on the pitch whether we bring in these players remains to be seen.

Agree with the sentiment of your post, but we need to be realistic about potential targets – if we signed Arshavin (which I doubt we will) he wouldn’t ‘just about’ fit for our side. The guy has played 100 times in the Premier League for Arsenal, scoring 20-odd goals, and has been capped 75 times by Russia. He would immediately become the most talented player in our squad, by some distance, and we would/should look to build our team around him.

If we’re not going to do that with players of that sort of talent, we may as well not bother signing them.
