Be good if true. Got a good record at a struggling side, obviously the next step is can he do it with ourselves further up the division now. But if he can hit similar numbers again with us, then that would be a good return for us. Obviously always the potential for him to score more than what he has previously, as you'd imagine he'd get more/better opportunities with ourselves.

i think you will find they prefer to be called they/them instead of the 'he' pronoun

Be difficult to find a better option on a free tbh

Even with us he seemed to have ‘something’ about him - wasn’t especially quick, good in the air etc, but his movement was good. He has obviously progressed significantly since

Great business if we get it done. Is that probably the CF position sorted if we get him?

I love the way you assume we will be further up the division ... :D

Yeah AC, Smith, Ehibhatiomhan should be a very strong 3

If we can add Amos and Olidapo along with Smith early this week I think we’re on the right track

Yeah, feeling a bit more optimistic but still Dai Out for now, needs to prove his credibility much more.

I feel we might have a slow start due to the lateness of our signings but should hopefully still be a good season.

Add a striker with some real pace and it could be a really useful line up.

I’m not panicking about the signings being late really, don’t think a week or two makes a lot of difference

Bit of noise about Lumley, Mbengue is obviously still knocking about Reading so I’m assuming he wouldn’t be doing that unless he is considering coming back, Hoilett presumably still has a contract offered to him…if these 3 came they’d integrate straight back in

Hutch is currently fit, hopefully Yiadom and AC will be as well.

Amos and Olidapo have been training with us

If the majority of those players play against Peterborough shouldn’t be any excuses really

Signings were quite late last season if memory serves correctly and the first couple of months were by far our strongest. Loum, in particular started off very well. Almost like the players got worse as soon as they got used to Ince’s methods

Say it every season but the injuries have to be managed better this season. Hutchinson was a big miss last season. Given Selles’ background work on physiology and fitness, there’s scope for improvement there

Smith would be a terrific signing for us. Happy with that if it comes off.

I think the injury situation was largely aggravated by a combination of having to scrape the bottom of the barrel for players the last few seasons, which left us with technically good players for the Championship but injury prone and then when we're constantly having to field a similar starting XI, it leaves little room for rest and recovery.

Signing players late often means they'll take further into the season to gel properly. So whilst no guarantees making signings late does increase the chances we'll start off slowly.

Could it be similar this season? Amos and Adeniran have both been rumoured, both of whom on paper are good L1 midfielders with sketchy injury records.

Possibly. Although there was plenty of times last season - certainly in that busy October/November period, where the squad wasn’t managed properly. Ince went on and on about fixture congestion yet would use 2/3 subs out of 5 (with plenty of options on the bench). It’s hard to take that seriously. Likewise Paunovic would choose the same 4-2-3-1 without rotating even at our worst. When his hand was forced, J.Clarke did in 45 minutes what Puscas hadn’t in about 8 months

Similarly you’d have to question the mentality of some of the players. Were they desperate to recover from injury and get back on the pitch? Was there enough motivation to do that? How can so many players just seem to disappear off the radar?
