biscuitsrus Why is everyone "creaming" themselves over Fae, has anyone seen him play and what makes him so good?

Think I will reserve judgement until I have seen him play a few times.

You do that.

Let us know what your judgement is after a few games mind.

It's not every day that we sign a player (that the best manager that the club has ever had has been chasing for over a year) for 2.5M.

Only if you remind me.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I just feel really happy

This happened on a day when Kieron Dyer was being touted as a £6 million player and Man City are trawling Europe for nobodies!

We are just so good at transfers!

From a Nantes fansite not so long ago
Emerse Faé is a defensive midfielder, in the mold of Claude Makélélé, who is his idol. Like Maké, Emerse is a product of Nantes' renown youth system, which he joined before becoming a teenager even, as it was his hometown club. Despite being born in Nantes and appearing quite often in Les Bleuets (also known as U-21 team), Emerse opted to play in the Ivorian national team in order to go to the World Cup, which he did, although he stayed on the bench. This could prove to be a good decision though because France have a very crowded situation in defensive midfield, where Faé's good buddy Jérémy Toulalan (another Nantes product, born and bred) would be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Faé is very similar to Maké in build, though he's obviously got a long way to go to be in the same neighborhood as the veteran midfielder. He does have good hustle, passing ability, and speed, though he doesn't do anything outstanding yet. Overall, I think that Faé will develop into a good player, though not as good as either Maké or Toulalan. In other words, he'll be a starter, perhaps a star, in L1, though on the better teams in the elite European leagues, he'll likely be on the bench."

Sounds good to me if thats a persons point of view of a 22 year old at the time written and has only cost us peanuts in todays inflated market. Would be second fiddle to Toulalan in france side. Can't complain with this signing as especially for the price paid we can't go far wrong

Pleased we've finally got our man. Makes the midfield very competitive now, but also shows we're now looking at different kinds of players to what we already got, as shown by the Cisse & Fae signings.

Thats a bit fking special that is..... bloody hell I dont think I could do that. I assumed he'd be big and scary, not nippy and erm. Pele.

Are we SURE that guy plays for RFC?!!!

Sorry to add some realism here but that goal isn't actually that good. He goes past the first player with a lucky deflection, it lands in his path, then the other defender dives in and misses the ball and the finish looks like more luck than a placed effort.
I'm all for hyping up players but cut the bullsh1t please.

Yes, and don't forget that Ryan Giggs semi final winner against Arsenal in 1999 wasn't very good either for pretty well the same reason, and Thierry Henry was just an average player but defenders fell over in front of him and don't forget that Pele was a shite player too!

I thought that. The one in the first clip is a lot better where it pings out to him and he just creams it without hesitation.

Fred Sharpe's Nose 'Reading have been following me for a long time and I was interested as soon as I heard that they wanted me.

'I want to play here and win games in this magnificent stadium and I'm happy to work with Steve Coppell, he is a good manager.'

Top attitude. Like him already. Coppell out.

Mmmmm, interesting that he says he was interested as soon as he heard we wanted him. Remind me, at the start of last season, didn't he say that he wasn't interested in coming here cos he didn't think we would stay up or something?

I do remember something along those lines, yes... But whatever, as long as he shows commitment from now on, his past [justified] doubts are irrelevent.

Hampshire Royal Fae (pronounced Fayay)

Indeed. Most of the French sites seem to spell it Faé, not Fae. (I assume the others are just lazy.)

To be honest some of the stuff done by the Nancy boys was sweet.
