It's not every day that we sign a player (that the best manager that the club has ever had has been chasing for over a year) for 2.5M.
Emerse Faé is a defensive midfielder, in the mold of Claude Makélélé, who is his idol. Like Maké, Emerse is a product of Nantes' renown youth system, which he joined before becoming a teenager even, as it was his hometown club. Despite being born in Nantes and appearing quite often in Les Bleuets (also known as U-21 team), Emerse opted to play in the Ivorian national team in order to go to the World Cup, which he did, although he stayed on the bench. This could prove to be a good decision though because France have a very crowded situation in defensive midfield, where Faé's good buddy Jérémy Toulalan (another Nantes product, born and bred) would be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Faé is very similar to Maké in build, though he's obviously got a long way to go to be in the same neighborhood as the veteran midfielder. He does have good hustle, passing ability, and speed, though he doesn't do anything outstanding yet. Overall, I think that Faé will develop into a good player, though not as good as either Maké or Toulalan. In other words, he'll be a starter, perhaps a star, in L1, though on the better teams in the elite European leagues, he'll likely be on the bench."

Thats a bit fking special that is..... bloody hell I dont think I could do that. I assumed he'd be big and scary, not nippy and erm. Pele.
Are we SURE that guy plays for RFC?!!!
Sorry to add some realism here but that goal isn't actually that good. He goes past the first player with a lucky deflection, it lands in his path, then the other defender dives in and misses the ball and the finish looks like more luck than a placed effort.
I'm all for hyping up players but cut the bullsh1t please.

Mmmmm, interesting that he says he was interested as soon as he heard we wanted him. Remind me, at the start of last season, didn't he say that he wasn't interested in coming here cos he didn't think we would stay up or something?
