Haven't seen this elsewhere, but I'll take my dodding like a man if I'm being dense.

I couldn't hear the announcer properly yesterday so I was confused as to why Federici, Cisse, Long, Kitson, Oster and Bikey were all warming up.

When did the 5-subs-on-the-bench-rule change?

I didn't think Long was named as a sub was he?

Long wasn't on the bench IIRC.

It may have been a case that he travlled with the squad incase of any last minute injuries, he would've been able to go on the bench, I'd imagine its a regular occurence

He maybe went as well to experience the occassion and warming up with the team at Old Trafford and sitting on the bench and being part of the whole occassion.

The experience will help his nerves if he has to turn out at Anfield or the Emirates later in the season or Old Trafford next year.
