Well at the age of 32 I will admit I supported Liverpool until I was 10 and went to my first Reading game.

22 years. Will never change.

Isn't everyone a plastic to some extent? Not that many supporters will start following a club which is losing week in week out in the Ryman Premier. I think people in our family have seen a Reading game in almost every decade in this and the last century and I was lucky to grow up at the best point in our history. I've had a season ticket since i was 11 in 2003, which you could call jumping on the bandwagon - if Reading had been relegated in 2002, I doubt I would've got one then. Despite that, while obviously I don't want to see Reading back in League One or worse, I feel sure that I'll have a season ticket whenever possible, whatever division Reading are in now. The only 'plastic' is a fan who comes out of the woodwork when Reading are doing well, tries to claim some part of the success, then disappears when they get relegated.

I jumped on the bandwagon in the 83/84 promotion season and have gamely clung on ever since, even with 2 wheels were in a ditch. After 26 seasons, it's in the blood, I couldn't walk away, even if I wanted to.

Depends on the definition of Plastice.

I first attended a Reading game in 91 at the age of 9, and went on and off (ie when Dad would take me, I lived in Pamber!) until 99 when I had a drivers license. I then started going more often, but in 2000 went to uni in Nottingham..... I got to about 1/3 of the home games, and all of the midland away games for the next 4 years. I was at the playoff final against Bolton, and again against Wallsall.

First year back from uni (05/06) I went to about 80% of the games, and in the year we went up, I got my first ST (to be fair, it was also the first time I could afford it!!) and have had it since, and will continue to keep it until someone pries it from my cold, dead hands.

If that makes me a plastic - then so be it.

One day I hope to have enough disposable income to be able to fund a season ticket and the travel costs to use it.

until then its as many games as I can arrange and reasonably afford.

doubled my attendence for this season. My best since moving to Cambridge mid-way through the title season.

Can't beat the heady days of my youth before uni went I went to every other home game though. Sigh.

I don't fully subscribe to all this "plastic" business. Sure RFC probably gained a lot of fans/supporters/followers with their premiership seasons, however I don't believe they will all flood back to Chelsea and Tottenham like others do. Of course some will, but I do believe we will see bigger attendences than we did 3-4 years ago, and we will keep the majority of the new fans we gained from our top-league status.

I'm a complete Anti-Plastic

STH from late 70's to mid 90's, missed very few away games in that time (including a midweek trip to a friendly with Altrincham - I must remember to keep taking the medication for that one)

However, saw only 5 PL games, and two of those were at St James Park

I'm happy enough that there were enough plastics to fill the place every other week, though

I can empathise with this. Only saw two Premiership games after travelling up from Sussex and watching ten games or more a season in recent years.

However, travelled all over the country in Divisions 4, 3, 2,1 The Championship etc.. Loyal fan since 1970.

Maybe I'm suffering from a psychological defect - but you've made me feel better

I jumped on the wagon in '95 and my first live game was the play off final defeat. The first game I ever saw was the 0-0 against Tranmere in the second leg of the play off semi, and that was only the second half on TV.
