Looks like he's going to stay, there's no interest.

Er..isn't there still nearly 3 months to go till the transfer window closes?
May I suggest that if Doyle stays at the top of The Championship goalscoring charts a number of Premiership clubs will be very interested come January.
Maybe not Spurs this time but the likes of Everton,Middlesboro,Sunderland,Blackburn and anybody else outside of the top 4 could well be interested.

Hmm of those I would say only Everton (possibly if Saha doesn't work) and maybe Sunderland would be interested. Blackburn have a load of strikers as do Middlesbrough.

But Doyle would probably love to go to Everton. I hope he wouldn't go to Sunderland.

A lot will depend on the money these clubs have available this summer - will they be willing to risk around £7m+ on him. Take into account there will be approximately 120 current Premier League players possibly available on the cheap come January due to being in the last six months of their contract.

i think going to anyone in that bottom half would be a huge mistake
could just as easily be down by end of season

Sunderland love Irish players,Saha will get injured,Blackburn may lose Santa Cruz,Boro's strikers are unreliable and then there are those under threat from relegation.
Personally I like Bedding's option.

Villa will do to us in January what Liverpool tried to do to them with Barry.
They will put in an offer which Doyle will accept. What it will come down to is how hardball the club is prepared to play on value of the player.

No club can approach a contracted player without the permission of the club with whom the player has the contract; therefore the scenario that Villa will make an offer that Doyle accepts and then we will have a battle to keep him simply can't happen.

What would be similar is if Villa make Reading an offer which we reject, but Doyle is made unhappy because we didn't accept it; Villa then sit back, waiting to pick up the pieces. At that point it would be interesting to see how Reading react; personally, I think we don't have to sell for the money, and if we are where we are now, I don't think we would accept anything other than a substantial (£10M+) bid.

Sadly we are gonna see more and more of this.

Money talks, we all know that. Even if we do go up this season, players could still want to leave for the riches of an established mid table Premeriship team.

Sarah Star Just an observation.

I don't know what Pearce did at Southampton, but jumping into the crowd seems to imply Doyle quite likes it here with us.

Come on Kev, you know no one loves you like we do. Stay with us and we'll treat you right. You don't want to go and warm up anyone elses bench for them. You know it makes sense.

I guess he just read what I wrote and decided I was right.
