Mintymurray He has gone. He went, in 35 years of watching RFC I have seen other clubs, teams etc, but never have I changed support when we've been relegated. He did, more to the point, he did half way through a pivitol season for the club when we were bent on supporting and staying up, he was bent on cash and self worth. He thought he was better, he wasn't. lovely guy, great for us in his day, but took 6 months money and was eyeing up another job all along.

Shirley you are mistaking Kitson for Shorey.

Actually, I believe Lita is currently Norwich's top goalscorer and a hat trick against Wolves is rather tasty.I'm quite happy to see him given another chance.

As much as I loved Dave Kitson, and his record here speaks for itself, my hunch is that not going back is probably the right policy.

However, yet again we have another thread littered with pro-Lita bias to truly pathetic levels.

I have no idea what disruption Kitson may have caused in the dressing room but everything suggests that Lita has, at the very least, matched him in this respect.

Lita has admitted his poor attitude to not playing and demands to go out on loan.

For all those who think Long is sh*t, what does it say about their darling Leroy when he says stuff RFC I'm not sitting on the bench?

When did Kitson go nearly 2 years without scoring a goal in front of his home crowd?

Leroy scores his 2nd league goal for us in nearly 2 years and his sad little fans are all over this board like a rash but fcuk left back Chris Armstrong's first goal for the club, having made Nicky Shorey the forgotten man of RFC since the day he arrived :|

Whatever his attitude, Kitson rarely failed to produce the goods here whereas Lita still has much to prove to those who don't think the sun shines of his backside before he's considered worth hanging onto.....................one goal doesn't even come close.

I'd rather have N Hunt and Leroy than Kitson.
N Hunt is the perfect foil for Doyle and Leroy has got such a sharpness to him.
Leave the ginger be.

+1
I'm happy he's back, coz he's a threat & scoring goals, not just based upon one goal.

If Lita shows he can do more than just back into his marker and dive because he can't turn a defender, I think we're sorted upfront.

Ian, Joe, statto and Woodcote are speaking so much sense, have I logged onto the wrong forum?

IMO Kitson>Doyle>NHunt>>>>>>Lita=Long. Kitson would be the best striker in the league by some distance if he came back to us. He gave an interview when he said at least twice, might have been four times, that he would love to come back to us, etc. This was when he was in the Stoke side.

And ffs, a single good game from Leroy does not make up for performances that Ollie Kearns, Eric Obinna or Dean Morgan would be disgusted at. I'll be as happy as anyone if he can return to his form of old, but it will take a month or so to convince me he has. However, I am convinced that his attitude has improved- I think it was probably exaggarated Chinese whisper style, much like Kitson's seems to be. However, Kitson's "poor attitude" didn't show on the pitch, like Leroy's did. I seem to be going off on a tangent.

HELL YEAH.

Edit: fitness allowing ofc.

I'd say, currently:

Kitson=Doyle>>NHunt~Lita>>>>>Long

See I totally disagree with that, but I can at least understand why you'd think that, which is fair enough.

I think Doyler has gone up a level this year and has really benefited from having Noel Hunt along side him in that he shares what is a big workload for our front two. I think he ran himself into the ground last year which cost him a bit in terms of quality.
I like Kitson as well. I actually think he is the type of player that needs to play in a really good side in order to get the best out of him. I think going to Stoke was a big misjudgement on his part in that respect. Thought he did okay v Liverpool last Saturday but he was rarely given any quality possession in the final third.
I generally don't believe that things work a second time around but I bet Dave wishes he was back here now :)

all round ability doyle is better than lita

best natural goalscorer, even steve coppell says that is lita

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDet ... 04,00.html

[quote="SC"]Leroy is a natural goalscorer, the best box finisher we've got{/quote]

as for kitson, i don't think he should come back. that way his reputation remains

if we did want him back, other than what would then be 5th choice SLong, who do we offload? lita won't go with 6 months left on his contract. nhunt hasn't been with us long enough for anyone to be interested and doyle is that little bit of something special you need to get us promoted.

long may be happy to keep the bench warm as a number 3 or a number 4. the rest would not be happy to be a 3 never mind a 4

No, that's an insult not an argument. If you want the argument it's scattered throughout the rest of these pages. I see no need to repeat any of the opinions, facts or figures, or come up with new ones, when very little other than he's shit and disruptive has been used against him. Frankly that's rubbish.

More drivel than an argument, ( oh wow, i can do this insult thing too).

He's shit- yeah well 0 goals in 11 league and cup starts .... brilliant. Yeah he's done well for us in the past, but that's the thing, its the past.

Disruptive- yeah he was. its been said by many people within the club, without directly naming him as one of the culprits. Nevertheless, are you that naive that he was in no way responsible for the downturn of morale in the dressing room?

Seriously, wake up.
