Royalee
Ian Royal That's a pathetic attempt.

?

You know exactly what I mean and I'm not spelling it out to you so you can start another tedious anti-Coppell argument. He is no longer our manager, he leaves behind a quality legacy as the best manager weve ever had. Both in terms of success and recognition from his peers.

There is no point disputing that, because you can't. No matter what else you try and say with you're irrelevent opinions and experience the above reains true. So leave it.

We all hope Rodgers goes on to be fantastic. He certainly brings the fresh approach and style we need. But he is very unproven and quite easily be a total failure. Just ignore those who try and compare him to Coppell. That's something for 2020, should he make the grade here.

Breif synopsis of St Brendan - which could be fitting for our very own....

Saint Brendan - called "the Navigator", "the Voyager", or "the Bold" (yes I think that covers him)

He is chiefly renowned for his legendary quest to the "Isle of the Blessed" (Premiership).

Saint Brendan's feast day is celebrated on 16th May (certainly could be if we go up)

One of two wins that we achieved at home this year.
Brendan Rodgers was the Watford manager that evening.

Brendan Rodgers was the Watford manager that evening.

That was early days, when he thought he had a team that could actually play football. When he realised that he didn't (this game was part of that realisation) he switched it to hoofball, with a gradual build up to football, and success.

readingbedding...... FAIL.

Fail at what, we won 4-0.
Then we beat Wolves at home through a bizarre own goal, and that was it at home for the rest of the season....strange wasn't it.

Where's his quote that says 'I thought I had a team that could actually play football. When I realised that I didn't (this game was part of that realisation) I switched it to hoofball'?

I can't find it anywhere.

Personally, I thought it was quite tight until we scored, then we proceeded to batter them, perhaps he had to take a risk, now I've read direct quotes where he mentions risk-taking.
Which is good!

I assumed that you posting a link of us battering them with him as manager you were having a pop at him and saying he's not a very good manager... And I never said that was a quote of his. That was my opinion... Now I'm more confused than a meerkat to be honest...

Working in customer service I'm getting quite good at spotting mentals.

Readingbedding is one of the more obvious ones.

So in conclusion, we beat Watford and top of the league at home, which proves next to bugger all?

Apparently it proves that Rodgers is shite and he is going to fail here at Reading as well, as we could not beat Forest et al at home after that game...

According to RB...

Just been listening to the obituaries about Sir Bobby and how he used to stick by the youngsters and Mick(ey) Mills in particular for the captaincy.

BR,Alex Pearce (possibly??).Be lovely if history was to rewrite itself, given the success that Ipswitch enjoyed back then.

floyd__streete Rodgers is clearly an ambitious man, and whether his philosophy is simply a load of old flannel or actually totally inspired forward thinking will only become clear to us over the next few months. Rodgers really needs to succeed at Reading now after leaving Watford after a short period; failure with us will leave huge question marks over his ability as well as his loyalty and commitment and he'll end up carving out a career in the bottom rungs of english league management. What he does with us over the next few years will determine whether he gets his wish to manage Chelsea in the Champions League or whether he ends up coaching Gillingham in the Johnstone's Paints.

Interesting.
