You do seem to have a habit of having a go at players who don't really deserve it, Sidwell, Shorey and now Ivar.3 players who have given fully committed and excellent service to RFC over the years.

What it amounts to is me pointing out that all fans' favorites don't always play well yet are rarely accussed of having poor games and that certainly applied to all of Shorey, Sidwell and Ingimarrson. ..........................the classic case being Gunnarsson (non fans' favorite) getting slagged off when we let in 8 at Portsmouth whilst Shorey and Ingimarsson (Grade "A" fans' favourites) were "apparently" blameless.

This potential signing suggests to me that we are FINALLY!!!! moving on from 2005-6.

Reading: Hahnemann ,Rosenior ,Pearce ,Duberry ,Harding ,Kebe (Kitson ,53 ) ,Gunnarsson ,Matejovsky (Stephen Hunt ,52 ) ,Tabb ,Church (Little ,53 ) ,Long Subs not used: Federici,Cisse,

Only 6 players from the 2005/6 season were involved in that game and 3 of them were subs. And two of them were on loan.

Most of those gaps were forced on a manager who gave the distinct impression he'd rather lose a limb than drop one of his favorites or sign someone who might threaten their place.

All of Shorey, Sidwell, Ingimarrsson and Harper would have made that side (and probably Doyle and Murty, too) had they'd been available.

Why do we always sell our best players then? Sidwell, Shorey, Doyle to name but 3. Do we know FOR CERTAIN that we bid £2 million for this Doncaster bloke? Only with Smith, who was valued at £1.8 million we only bid £750k didn't we? Put some Madejski spin on it and "we just missed out on signing £1.8 million player Smith"
