Sorry, you can blame him for one of the goals (their second) for sure, he gave the ball away with one of his MANY terrible passes. He also gave away the free-kick stupidly.
Just face it, he was crap today, there were others in that first half I admit, but generally he was useless.

Really surprised that Rodgers did not come back in for any of the players he signed last summer, please come and take Howard at the very least, and for £3m he can take Mills as well.
I can see why the referee gave the red in full speed, and in the context of Holt being in Hartes face thirty seconds before it just looked malicious and he appeared to go over the ball, even if the replays show it wasn't that bad.
Norwich can't really complain though, I thought they were terrible and we gifted them three goals that they'd never have made for themselves. Should've hammered them 10-0 really.

We were shocking first half and were very lucky to go in only 3-1 down. If it wasn't for the debatable red card, more than likely we'd have been soundly beaten. We've conceded thee goals in three of our last four games, defensively we are god awful so its not some sort of fluke they were gifted goals.

They created nothing we gifted them three easy goals (free run at the keeper from thirty yards away, awful backpass, worst wall I've ever seen). Can't remember them creating anything else and they had 25% possession in both halves. We defended awfully 11 vs 11 but Karacan and Long were superb, Church did his role well, Antonio was exciting, and going forward our full backs were decent unlike last weekend.
Maybe it came across differently actually at the ground but I thought Norwich were terrible.

Me too - I especially agree about the context of the fracas that happened just a minute earlier when Norwich were given a non-contested drop ball to play into touch and then decided to dribble it away!
Never seen any team do that before, not even teams managed by the likes of Billy Davies & Colin W who stoop to every low bit of gamesmanship going. My first thought was that Holt had clocked Harte in relatiation for something that had gone on then - I wonder if the ref thought the same?

Sat in the North Stand so first of all, a massive feck off to the people behind me who told me to sit down when Long was getting ready to take the penalty. Obviously people who had never been to a game before 2006.
Fed 5 - sat right behind the goal I have never experinced such a quiet goalkeeper. No communication with the back 4 at all.
Griff 6 - showed Harte where he should have been playing in the second half
Harte 5 - way too slow in getting forward and I do not mean leg speed but brain speed. Dead ball delivery laughable.
Mills 4 - great through ball for the second. Really can not play against a strong centre forward. Flat track bully
Khiz 5 - too indecisive throughout the first half. Out of position too often and way too casual at times
MacAnuff 6 - ran around a bit and should not have been moved into centre midfield as he failed to time a single pass when he did move inside
Hunt 7 - little to show in the first half but came alive in the second. Great finish
Karacan 6 - poor first half but got more involved in the second. Too lightweight to boss the midfield.
Howard * (does not warrant a score. Hw is the worst midfielder I have seen in the hoops for a long time. First half gave away the ball at least 10-15 times. NOT.GOOD.ENOUGH
Church 6 - Good movement but not much else. Did not get any help from Harte second half on the left
Long 7 - Gives everything and good movement to win the pen

Why lump the ball to Long when he is being muscled out of it by 2 CDs who are at least 6 inches taller (and 4 feet wider)? Woeful performance from far too many players. Thakfully the ref took pity and sent off Holt. From where I was sat it looked a poor challenge.

Played the way we should have played in the first half. No long hoofs to Long apart from the last 5 minutes. Good movement and looked a million times better when Howard went off.
Severely pissed off with the referee failing to clamp down on the blatant time wasting. Great atmos second half but Reading fans really need to support the team when 3-1 down and not once we get it back to 3-2.

I watched this in Ox on Foxtel and it's the first time I have seen Reading for a couple of years. I thought the sending off was a dreadful decision by the ref - but this 25 year old ref is starting to create a really, really bad reputation for himself. Sending Paul Lambert to the stands was just stupid. The penalty decsion was 50/50.
For what it's worth there is a real lack of pace in the Reading team. There's nothing wrong with the "patience, possession and passing" way of playing the game but only if you have the likes of Zidane Zidane with Dennis Bergkamp to finish things off. I'm not suggesting long ball tactics but if Reading are going to play in such a fashion they need more creativity in midfield.
The McGhee team of, gosh, almost ten years ago, was in my opinion the best Reading side I have ever seen. But we had Shaka Hislop and Simon Osborne playing for us. There is absolutely nobody of that quality in the current side.

The "WALL" should have stood firm, khiz in particular, so the ball wouldnt have even gone through it. unfortunately they didn't and the ball went right through the wall!

Griffin 7 - didn't do much wrong thought he was one of our better defenders today.

I couldn't disagree more with your comment about McAnuff. I thought he was ineffective when out wide but influenced the game much more when he came inside. He kept possession where Howard had repeatedly lost it.

Agree with all of this. For some reason we just lumped the ball forward in the first half which would be just what the Norwich defenders would have wanted us to do. Our midfield looked really lightweight and Norwich just passed the ball around us just as Doncaster did for part of that game. As for the defence Mills and Zurab had a shocking half and every time Norwich attacked down Harte's side in particular they carved us open.
Apart from the obvious fact that we were playing against ten men and the ref gave us a free kick almost every time we lost the ball I thought some other reasons for our improvement in the second half were that Norwich sat too deep allowing our full backs to play as auxiliary wingers and both our first half wingers were much more effective when they moved into central roles - McAnuff in midfield and Hunt up front.
Im happy with the point feel we could have won it thought, especialy with all the chances created. although if norwich didnt have the man sent off the game would have been completely different. so we got very lucky with that. but will take the point better than nothing.
07 Federici... His one save when it mattered earned us a point. Not sure how much the free-kick was his fault. Thought he did very well even tho Holt scored.
07 Harte...... Another priceless goal. Let down a coupla times by Church. Variable crosses but at least two peaches. Hunt should've scored from one.

Just to pick up on this, Kishanishvili wasn't even in the wall he was behind it. Not really sure why we only had 3 in the wall when most keepers would probably want at least 4. Hunt, on the end of the 3, could possibly have reacted a bit and flicked his head at the ball, but only having 3 in there gave them a big target to aim at on the walls side of the goal.
Not blaming Federici as such, but I think he could possibly have done more. I don't think Hahnemann would've conceded to Holt goal either.

Howard certainly had a poor game today. But he's been good otherwise and creates a lot of our goals for us, so you'd surely have to be pushing a personal agenda to call for him to be dropped.
